Help Me Customize My New House for Brewing!

I like the idea. i may be able to pull off some sort of awning for weather protection. If we do a screened porch, then i will have to get a gas outlet and water spigot.

Help Me Customize My New House for Brewing!

We are getting ready to build a house! And, luckily for us, we know the builder and are going to be able to do some customizing. We can't go crazy (so the refrigerated beer room is out). We have a small budget for the house/lot. But, I am getting a two-car garage that the SWMBO has already...

What do you think the new fad for BMC will be?

I apologize, but I can't read all 17 pages of this thread - but I know it will be whatever the perceived threat is to BMC. So, whatever craft beer trend is doing well, AB will come in and make a similar but way crappier tasting beer and sell it for half the price of the real craft beer company...

    Oklahomans Unite!!!

LOL! Seriously, fight the good fight. I grew up in Norman and it was hell in high school with the whole ABV cap at 3.2%. Alcohol laws in OK are terrible! May God soothe your beer-loving soul. I will pray for you.

My worst brew day so far.

It'll probably be your favorite beer so far. I think it's too easy to get caught up in all the numbers - I do it, too. It's tough getting everything to exactly where it's supposed to be. In fact, last weekend, i had taken a sample to do a gravity reading to see if we needed to extend the boil...

kegs, are they really this elusive??

An update: I thought I had posted my Craigslist ad on Jan. 21, when I made this post, but it didn't go up. I ended up posting on the 22nd. I had a response and 2 empty (partially) kegs in the back of my jeep by the 24th (yesterday). Now they are over at my brew buddy's house waiting to go to...

    Stir Plate not working now?

I'm having a similar problem. Bar not spinning through thick starter. I can up the power from 6 to 12, but what the heck is a dip tube o-ring?

A case against kegging - Bottling is better

I agree with you to an extent. I believe that you hit the nail on the head with the AG folks making 10 gallon batches and then kegging it. It really would be a pain to bottle 10 gallons - and in the same vein, it would be a pain for someone to make a 10 gallon batch using an extract/mini-mash...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

We are brewing a Vanilla Coffee Bourbon Oak Imperial Stout this weekend. It will be the first brew session of the new year and first time for using goodies from Christmas - new refrigerator control, brew table, etc. This one's going to be a monster - we're shooting for 1.100 OG.

    Showing some Pilsner love

OK, for my christmas present to myself, i am purchasing a digital temp controller for my chest freezer which has stood dormant since October. Since starting homebrewing, i have been exploring the world of Ales. But now that i will be master over my fermentation temps, i want to try brewing a...

    Last Order with Midwest

Last time that i ordered from them, i was worried that i wasn't going to get my order before the weekend because i hadn't heard from them. Turns out all was fine. I had ordered on Monday, and it was delivered by Fri. I decided that they were just busy. Even though it took awhile for...
