Your wife rocks! Mine leaves everytime I have a brew day (might be on to something here :p) so she would have NO clue what to do. Seriously though, love my wife, she just doesn't like the smell of brew day, so she gets out of the house. I'm just trying to convince her to let me buy...

    AZ transplant

Thanks for the welcomes. Been a long time lurker, figured I'd come out of the woodwork a little more now that I feel more comfortable with the whole brewing process. I learned quickly on what not to worry about and what to focus on. A pre-and post thank you to all of you guys and gals here.

    AZ transplant

I've realized I've been on the forum for several months and never introduced myself. I've been brewing since Dec. 10, started with the Mr. Beer kits, did 4 of those while gearing up to do 5 Gal. batches. Two of the three 5 Gal batches were split between 2 Mr. Beer fermenters. I've just...

    Smallest Fermentation Fridge

The Sanyo 4433 will hold a bucket fermenter, but you do have to cut out the door shelves. Got one off of Craigs List for $40. Oh, you won't have to bend down the freezer shelf for a bucket, not sure about a carboy yet.

Drill Settings for Step Bit (Posted Photo Somewhere)

As a last resort measure you can chain drill around the inside perimeter of the hole with a small diameter drill bit, cut any of links with a side cutters and use a sanding drum to open up to your final diameter. It can be time consuming, but will get you your results if nothing else helps.

    Brewhouse in Greater Phoenix area?

Four Peaks and San Tan are two that always come up in most discussions in this area. There are a couple more but I don't recall them right now. Welcome to the Valley of Sun! I've been here 10 years now, and no, the summers do not get any easier.:cross:

    Which A19 controller?

I have taken note of the aquarium controllers, but mainly for the reasons of ease of use and known reliability, did I decide on the analog controller. I don't see needing heat control in my climate as a must have right now, the chamber is inside tucked in the closet. The controller was $54...

    Which A19 controller?

I have decided to order a controller from Midwest instead. Seems I'll get more for my money for the controller and a few more items. But I will post up the controller info for others future references. The variety of controllers are abundant.

    Which A19 controller?

Good information to know. Might have to make a note on the controller for that. I doubt I'll need heating much here since it rarely ever gets below 60, much less 65, in our house.

    Which A19 controller?

Indeed they do, they are the digital ones. I'm interested in the analog version.

    Which A19 controller?

Thank you, but was asking about the A19 series:) I'll use that info if I go that route.

    Which A19 controller?

Does anyone know what controller series of the A19 is typically used? Such as the one a person would get from Northern or Midwest? There are local dealers in Phoenix and want to know what I'm asking for. Should be A19xx-x combination. Thanks in advance.

    Siphon Sprayer

I saw a chart here somewhere that said a siphon sprayer will give 4 ppm of oxygen. With that in mind, will siphoning twice give you the preferred 8 ppm? Or just give only a slight increase? Just a thought to ponder.

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

Structures mechanic for helicopters here. While chemistry isn't a factor, precision, order and the understanding of stress points play important roles. To which all can contribute to helping brewing and d.i.y. projects related to it.

    Hello from Mesa, Arizona

Hey there, my name is Petri, friends call me Jeff, I'm from AZ myself, down southern ways in Queen Creek/San Tan Valley. Work in Mesa though, a short 27 mile commute. I've been reading here more than posting, still trying to get a good grasp on brewing at home. BYOB has been my go to...

    How did you find us?

Was asking on a Jeep forum if anyone locally homebrewed, and someone linked me to this site! Unlike my Jeep, I'm stuck here now.
