Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

So my kids got me a SS chronical fermenter for Christmas. I did the yeast ratio of 82/3/15. Bubbling away on day 3. What's the latest consensus on first dry hop? Day 3 or 4? When should I dump the trub? Before 2nd dry hop or right before transfer to keg? Grain Bill for more of a Green...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I have noticed this with the last batches of Julius and Doppleganger. Green and Haze still taste great IMO.

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Ok so for the math dummies like myself, if I use 1/8 teaspoon of kosher salt in my mash and in my sparge how much KCl would I use in it's place?

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I have a batch boiling now. I have a packet of Ekuanot cryo I was scared to use because the last flavor listed on the profile is green pepper

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Pretty much my same consensus. I'm brewing tomorrow and have a 1318 starter going. I wonder if it would be worth sprinkling a pinch of T-58 and WB06 in tomorrow. With Treehouse's move a half hour closer to me it's not a bad drive to get the real stuff. I've been out there three weeks in a...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Have you tried alter ego or doppleganger Melville? They taste similar and one of them is billed as amarillo. I like them even better than julius/haze/green. When I think Columbus I think Trillium

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

May go heavier amarillo than citra. Like I said I'm really digging Doppleganger and Alter Ego

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I use 4 mil hopshot for bittering. I think I'm going to go 40% amarillo 40%citra 20% simcoe. I thought cascade would be too piney? I have some ekuanot cryo but "green pepper" makes me nervous

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

No. I was using up my citra, mosaic and simcoe

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Their move from Monson to Charlton has made me a frequent traveler. I live 5 minutes from Trillium but Id rather make the TH drive now depending on what's being sold. I'm not driving out there for 12 cans of Lights On or Eureka or Bright Nelson. But put Julius, Haze, Green, Alter Ego, or...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I'm in week 3 in the serving keg of my 80-10-10 batch and the flavor is definitely changing to more bubblegummy than clovey. Still too much for a Julius clone but everyone who tastes it likes it. I think next batch needs amarillo. I love Doppleganger maybe better than Julius

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I got some Bright with Citra last week and the hop character resembled Julius. My next batch I'm going to try citra and amarillo

Yeah I always use the beer gun when I'm giving bottles to friends. It works great.

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I noticed this too with this 3 dry yeast mix. Everything else I used was the same as my normal recipe and it definitely came out darker.

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

I tried the triple blend yeast combo from that thread. Beer is really good but a bit too spicy. It's only been a week in the serving keg though. I've been doing Citra/Mosaic/Simcoe cryohops in a 2:1:1 ratio with wheat and oats added to the grain bill. I'm going to try the simple grain bill...

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

Has anyone tried Nate's simple recipe he shared? I know it was discussed earlier in this thread. Is it anything close? https://www.homebrewhedonist.com/tree-house-ipa-recipe/
