    Bottling from keg for long-term storage

    I've tapped some straight from my keg to a flip-top bottle and it worked no problems. Then I hooked up my keg to have it on tap. but then again I have a commercial size keggerator and can fit 6 corni kegs with room to spare.

    The old argument.

    Is that too long? I thought it was best to let the beer ferment and then rack it to a secondary to clear. Always thought letting the beer sit on the dead yeast was a bad thing?

    American pale ale. I found a jug in a box. Cooled it down its tasty.

    Its good to strain the trub. I use the grain bags. Put the hops on the grain bags, knot the bag and snip it for the next time. It cuts down the filtering at the end.

    Taking that many readings might set me up for an airborne attack. I'll check it again next weekend when I keg it.

    The kit has an OG of 1.051, I took a gravity since I got my new hydrometer this morning. It gave me a reading of 1.020.. This seems to be normal on what I have been reading on northern brewers site..

    I do monitor my temp, its been about 65 constant in my office where I keep my fermenting ales. I pitched a dry packet yeast in both brews. I would normally used a liquid yeast which I know tends to take a bit to start off but I had the dry. The yeast has taken off in about 8hrs of me pitching it.

    Had about 3 beers from the keg. This beer is going down too smooth. Nice head. Not as bitter as I thought it would be. And its not over carbed with 3/4cup of priming sugar.

    Just released the head pressure in the corny keg. Would 3 weeks be about time for carbonating with priming sugar?

    Leaking regulator? Check with soap bubbles. Check the seals inside the nut on the regulator. Spray the bubbles and turn the gas on 15psi. The bubbles will show the leak..

    I tried it before with the standard white metal cap but had trouble with carbonation. I found some caps that have an insulated.. they should be ready in another 2 weeks or so.. ill update when I try one.. I really like the idea of using wax to seal the bottles but that's when I would worry about...

    "Jug " like this. Not sure if it would carbonate. I have some "insulated" caps not sure how long these will hold for.. I would think they would be like the regular bottles

    okay. Its been over a week since I keg it... I am going to let it sit until January 7th at my other families Christmas party..
