Only third brew day, decided to try BIAB

Well that makes a lot of sense then. Using the Northern calculator ABV is 4.55 and OG is 1.043. So my beer came out fine, right in spec. I was worrying about nothing. It tasted very light because I had a 12% wheat wine before sampling. Bag order placed. Thanks all

Only third brew day, decided to try BIAB

I was curious about that also. I'm still new to using a refractormeter, maybe all my readings were off. I did not add water after the post mash reading. Do you know the sizes for Boilermakers, 15g? I keep wanting to order your bags, but forgot to measure my pot.

    Regulator bad?

I always burp the keg when changing pressures. The keg and co2 where in the fridge for more than 4 hours before setting the initial pressure to 30. I've had it on 10 psi since last night and it seems to be holding steady now. Should I be concern about over-carbonation from that 50 psi? I'll...

    Regulator bad?

    Regulator bad?

I bought this http://www.midwestsupplies.com/the-governor-dual-gauge-co2-regulator.html I'm carbing my first keg, I let the beer cool for a couple hours in fridge. Hook up the co2 and set it for 30 psi for 24 hours. I come back in 24 to set it at 20 for another 24 and gauges reading 50...

Only third brew day, decided to try BIAB

I had some issues trying to keep the temps right. Hopefully that doesn't make it too bad.

Only third brew day, decided to try BIAB

Don't know if you guys have seen these, but it was what I used. I bought the German Wheat, added some Coriander and Bitter Orange peel @ the 10 minute mark of the boil. Need to make sure I buy the right bag next time. This one was not big was not big enough to fit over the sides of the...

    Drilling Blichmann

Your thermometers aren't getting too hot? The four gallon mark looks like it's below the recommenced six inches from the bottom. Sorry for rehashing an old thread, just want to be sure before drilling an expensive kettle.

    Fermentation control for a newb

I have a side by side refrigerator in my garage doing nothing. I'm assuming I could you the use the one side as fermenting chamber with a STC-1000 controller. Could I use a tiny ceramic heater inside?

Seasoning new alumiun pot with oil

As you can see from my post count, I'm completely new to brewing. :mug: I purchased a 8 gallon aluminum stock pot. I tired to follow the instruction that came with the pot. Seasoning it three times, with a light coating of oil, heating, cooling, then wash. Problem is I might have heated...
