Capturing and Reusing Yeast from a Conical

A question for everyone: I was always using liquid yeast & then harvested my yeast from that. I switched over to dry yeast. I talked to a couple of the yeast guys out there and was told not to try to harvest from dry yeast. Is any one harvesting from dry yeast with success ?

    Guidance for first brew

Hi everyone. I used to be a fan of glass carboys. I have three 5 gallon ones I got 30 years ago. The glass is so thick the each weigh at least 25 lbs each. I switched over to stainless steel fermenters because I was always worried about dropping the glass. I’ll never go back to the glass. The...

    How to open these Kegs.

    Homebrewing Nightmare

While you may not have liked my response, these corny legs were made for the soft drink industry. Having worked with these kegs for delivering pre-mix to picnics & public events, the last thing we ever wanted was to have to go back an replace the soft drink & CO2 supplies. This would have been...

    Homebrewing Nightmare

Just a quick note; I worked for a major soda company & had to work with Corny Kegs daily. Post seals were replaced every time. Top lid seal was replaced if it failed a pressure check. Any lines used were always pulled apart at the fitting. The line was trimmed and the reattached after cleaning...
