sorry to ask, but couldn't find a thread. Yeast in keg

So I'm about to start kegging, and I only have 1 faucet but room for 2 or 3 kegs. I figured it would be pretty cool to rig up a bleed valve and gauge so I can just ferment lagers in the keg w/ my extra space, and bleed the extra pressure off. But a question is... must you siphon the beer to...

Brewstand build finished! 1st brew today

I was wondering how you adjust the drainage tube. You have to be able to because of the different amounts of trub you leave behind w/ different styles. What if you brew a huge ipa that uses a lot of hops?

So I just looked on craiglist earlier and found a kegerator for sale. here's the link http://stlouis.craigslist.org/for/1587618286.html I am thinking this is a pretty F'n good deal... It was new in 2000. It runs great, the guy has never had any problems with it. Everything in the picture...

Brewstand build finished! 1st brew today

Thanks that would be tons of help! I am particularly horrible with the lingo of pipe and fittings, so pictures are my friend. I just wanted to see exactly how you had the connectors fastened to the panel, and I also wanted to see the exact fitting you used for the disconnects. I like the 90 bend...

Brewstand build finished! 1st brew today

Wayne, your setup is great! I'm very slowly trying to gather diffferent odds and ends for a system. I just bought a shirron chiller (1st year teacher and can't find time to build), and I was worrying about the break material getting into the chiller and into the fermenter. Is there any other way...

I'm trying to get a plan done for a cfc and so I'm looking for a march pump to buy. I found a pretty good deal on ebay... 113 free shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220546328971&_trksid=p2759.l1259 but I was wondering about the inlet size. It has 3/8" inlet and...

    Electrical Primer for Brewers

I just looked at my dryer outlet, and it's a 30A 250V outlet. But I'm not sure if it is the 4 prong or 3 prong w/ no ground. There are 2 flat prongs, 1 prong that is L shaped, and a circle in the middle of the outlet which looks like it might be for a 4th prong. Any ideas? I might just have to...

    BLING BLING Electric HERMS Conversion

I wanted to build an all electric system a lot like this one, but I know very little about much of the electrical topics that are involved here. Does anyone know where I can read and learn all about this stuff without having to sift through 50 pages of thread? The whole pid ssr dipt and a lot of...

    invisible infections

hmm that is very interesting. And it makes sense because the co2 would be dense enough to just sit on top of the beer. What type of flavor does too much chlorine in your water supply give it?

    invisible infections

I just brewed a red ale with a wlp 007 yeast starter. There were no visible signs of infection, and the beer actually looks great and tastes ok. But there is some kind of taste to it that seems strange. I can't really describe it, since I haven't ever tasted an infected beer. One thing I...

2 yeasts, need to know dominant strain

I just brewed a batch today that ended up w/ an OG of about 1.08. I used a vial of wlp530 which is their abbey yeast. I didn't have time to make a starter so I just pitched it in from the vial. I didn't think the fermentation would start very quickly or be a very good fermentation w/o a starter...
