    Brew in airlock - is this a problem?

    make sure the airlock is clear so it doesn't shoot off of your bucket or carboy. A blow-off tube would be best. Just make sure it doesn't clog so beer goes flying everywhere. TipsyDragon beat me to it by less than a minute

    Watery Beer

    Did you guys drink them quick aka green? 1.015 Should have plenty of sugar left in them to give you some mouth feel. Were there any steeping grains involved or just straight extract. Most of the beers I've made from extract had a watery feel when they were young. what were the O.G. 's at too?

    Why am I the only one who can taste this off taste?

    Notty doesn't taste so good at higher temps. I've had two "bad" satchets of notty and its given the beer and off aroma more than flavor but it's still there. Thank god I'm up to 10 gallon batches so i can drink that 1/2 of the batch after I'm feeling good and less critical

    The last 2 times I've pitched Notty it has taken almost 3 days to take off. I wasn't to happy about it and they both had a wierd smell to them. I was thinking I had a bad lot, I have 1 more packet left but I think it's goin in the garbage.

    Secondary only if you have to the more times you move beer around the less you get from it. That being said if you are going to dry hop move it over to the secondary but don't be afraid to take a little more trub with you now than you would at bottling time it won't hurt anything
