    Stuck Tap, No Pour

Yeah I think the lines were gunked up or something because after you get it pouring it starts going again no problem. Going to have to take apart and clean up everything big time.

    Getting Drunk

Exactly, the difference to me is totally there. I'm guessing its not the alc itself but just byproducts of fermentation that are there in commercial brew for whatever reason. For me its like drinking Smirnoff compared to Top shelf Craft vodka.

    Getting Drunk

Ive gota completely agree with you on this. Hence the reason I brew my own. Beer is so bomb to begin with but making my own at a better quality to myself and my beer, that's the best.

    Stuck Tap, No Pour

So this is a new one for me. When I go to pour my pale ale from my kegerator, I open the tap and nothing comes out. No co2 and no beer. I then have to crank up the co2 pressure enough so it starts coming out which wastes the first beer. I'm thinking its the taps because they aren't perlick...

    Getting Drunk

I have to agree on that. I feel like really letting the yeast have their way and ferment out everything including their byproducts that it makes me less hungover. Some of these commercial brews are a ****ing joke with how loaded their beers are with syrups and flavorings

    Getting Drunk

I feel like this topic never gets enough attention on this site. Seeing how this is a serious reason beer is so popular, I want to see what everyone's opinion is on ABV afecting qualities of the finished product as well as quality of alcohol of homebrewed beer vs commercial beer. Is there a...

Bad boil, bad hot break, bad taste

What bad taste are you getting? Does the hot break depend on what malts your using? And is it essential to the process to have a hot break?

    Three Back-to-Back Fails

Yeah man **** happens. Don't lose hope. Just relax and fix what went wrong the first three times. Make sure anything that goes in is clean/sanitary once the boil is done. And don't get to worried man it happens to everyone. The fusels sound like the temp was off or the yeast strain wasn't a...

    Hops advice

You got plenty of options man. And that's dank that you grew your own hops and plan on using them. What recipe are you using? You don't need to stick to just those hops but it depends on what your looking to achieve and of course what you like to drink. I do recommend using the hops you grew...

    Fermentation temperature question.

Ive done this too and its funny how rigged it looks but its very effective. I agree with the mongoose. Dude I think your brew will come out great. If it doesn't you can always brew again and improve.

    Fermentation temperature question.

Can someone else please correct me if I am wrong... One thing I try to do is place the carboy in a bigger bucket of water, both to lower the temp of the wort inside the carboy but also to draw off some of that extra heat produced from the main phase of fermentation. Other then that I think...

    Adding Water Post Poil

Hello all, So I am brewing a pale ale this weekend, id like to brew about 8 gallons of finished wort as my boil pot is at 10 gallons. Would it be bad to top off the remaining volume with water that is extra from pre treatment? Will this affect anything? I need help so I can get plastered off...
