    Need Tower Faucet for project

Hello all, my large fridge died yesterday so I want to convert my small fridge into a nice kegorator. It will hold 2 of my corny kegs and a C02 bottle. I was able to find the parts on KegConnection but they don't have a Dual Faucet for homebrewing. Anyone have a good source for these? I would...

London Ale vs English Ale yest

Hello all. I made a clone of Dogfish Head's 60 min IPA. It called for an English ale yeast but all the LHBS had was London Ale yeast. Because I need this beer in a month I didn't have time to internet order the yeast so I took the London. Was this a mistake? Thanks. EB

10-tip multi jet burners. Has anyone found a source?

I have read this entire thread and now I am very confused and I have not even started drinking yet. I had the gas company out here today to install new leads from my 100 gallon home tank. I am tired of filling 20lb tanks. The guy told me I would need low pressure burners. I want to get a jet...

    consistent fermenting temps

I usually try to keep the temp as constant as possible. For ales around 68 is great. Mine range from 62-75 but I have never had problems except for once. Butter beer is a bit tought to swallow.

    Heating a small space

Everyone, I was cleaing my basement yesterday and my wife offered to let me have the space that goes under the stairs to use as a feremtation chamber. It is enclosed with carpet on the floor. I plan to insulate it in a couple of weeks but I need to add a little heat in there today. Any ideas? I...

    Diacetyl in da Brew

For me depending on the beer, I will raise the temperature almost 10 degrees during the final stage. This has helped me not have butter beer. I had a batch one that tasted like you were drinking a stick of butter. YUCK. I usually raise the temp for 24-36 hours. However most of mine are big beers...

When to move Lager from primary to secondary

Awesome thank you all, however this has raised another question. What is a D rest? as I said I normally do Ales and this is my first lager attempt other than a dunkel I do often.

When to move Lager from primary to secondary

Speaking of OAK. I just put my Arrognat Bastard clone into my OAK barrel. I can't wait to taste that one!

My stirplate won't work because I am a moron

A good laugh for you all. I made my own magnetic stir plate from the DYI link here. It took me a while but it turns on and the fan spins! But I put my flask on it and nothing. So I think why does it not work? Then I do some reading and realize I have no Stir Bar! I had no idea I needed one. My...

When to move Lager from primary to secondary

Hello all, I normally do only Ales but I have the perfect garage for lagering. It is a constant 54 degrees. So I made a Hellesbock with lager yeast. It has been going well for about 10 days. I still have very active ferementation. I have about an inch or so of sludge in the bottom. When is a...

    SWMBO vs. Homebrew

My wife is the one that bought me my first kit. :-) Now 3 years and a few grand in equipment I just look at her and say "Well, you started it." She is awesome and loves most of the beers I make. I am lucky!

New Oak barrel how long to oak for

Hello All, I have a quick question. I have a new Oak barrel and I soaked it with some whiskey. I then emptied it and it has been full of water since. I am now ready to put my first batch of beer in there to age. It is an Arrognat Bastard clone so I am hoping to get Oaked AB. My question is how...

    Double Pitching

Awesome thank you! Would 2 cups of DME be enough for 2 litres or should I go with 4 cups?
  18. E

    Double Pitching

You know I was thinking about that. I am just wondering how to seal the top. My stoppers are a bit big and I thought of just covering them with plastic wrap but they will need to be vented some how???

    Double Pitching

Ok because I droke one of my flasks last week and don't have a replacement yet. I could make a 1 litre starter with one vile and just pitch it and the unopened vile at the same time. If it was not for my clumsyness I would still have my other flask. :-)

    Harvesting yeast

I don't think you can do this. First there would need to be some left in the bottom of the bottle and I think the ammount would be way to small to do any good.
