I'd keg it, force carb it, and let it sit for a while. Then clean the fermenter for the next brew even if it is a while until it's needed.

O2 and gas permeability, perhaps. Even with pressurized CO2 in the line, the lack of oxygen in that line means oxygen can permeate through from the outside.
