    Not true about exporting NZ beer, they export steinlager which is a nasty lager. it's like they took an urquell recipe and brewed it at ale temps. The best NZ beer is Mac's Blonde or mac's Black.

    Yeah but overly hoppy regular stouts are nasty any way and totally detract from what a stout is all about. Unless it's an RIS I don't like stouts hoppy at all. talking of Black IPA's is there such a thing as Black Barleywine?

    Well first brew turned out pretty good, been carbing for nearly three weeks and it's damn good. a little more hoppy than I was expecting for a nut brown albeit I did used hopped extract.
