    West Coast Brewery Tour required

+1 on Stone. They have tours of the brewery and give you some free tastings afterwards. Check their website for tour times. Their restaurant also features a good selection of good beers. +1 on Pizza Port as well. In addition to some good pizza and their own beers, they have a lot of local beers...

Hey someone forwarded me this link. KegBot! He's using a 2 gallon keg that was used to keep ice cream. Anyone else have any experience with these kegs? Sounds pretty interesting.

    AHS Kits: A few questions

I just brewed the AHS Promotional American IPA today (my first AG), and I had a few questions: 1) Do you know how (with what efficiency) AHS calculates their expected original specific gravity? I tried figuring this out using Beer Smith, but I've never used it before so I'm not sure if I'm...

Reattaching the handle portion of a corny keg

Anybody know what would be the best way to reattach the black, rubber handle section to the top of a corny keg. I got a corny keg where one handle comes loose from the keg itself.

Costco - Brewcraft - Home Brewing Starter kit.

Yeah, I saw this kit just after I bought my starter kit from my LHBS. Seems like a great deal, but I also don't mind supporting the LHBS. I did just noticed that Costco now has a "Robust Porter" recipe for those not fortunate enough to have a LHBS Robust Porter

    Noob from socal

Yeah, I hope the beer gets better. I didn't get a hydro reading cause I didn't have a hydrometer. The instructions I had said it was optional, so I didn't bother. But I just got one at my LBHS for my next batch (in a few days). My recipe was this kit: Culver City Home Brewing Supply Co...

    Noob from socal

Hey thanks for the welcomes folks. Arturo, I used "dry ale yeast". It came in a little red package. It says "safale us-05" on it. I wasn't hot all the time, but during a few days, I'm guessing it got to the low 80s. I just tried some. Its still flat and has a weird after taste, but other...

Hey, I just kegged up my first batch of home brew today. It didn't smell too great, but I'm hoping it'll get better as it conditions and carbonates... I'm itchin to brew my second batch (and this time I'll pay more attention to the temperature) Thanks for all the informative posts here.

1/2 Kegs: what are they made of

Are most 15.5 gallon kegs made of SS? Or Aluminum. Sorry for the noob question, but I couldn't find an answer via search.

    off flavor problems

Sounds like your beer smells just like mine does. I just kegged my first batch. It didn't smell great, but I know I let it ferment at too high a temp. I hope it gets better w/ age. Good luck w/ yours.
