WTH is this in my beer?

Great. How did that happen? I'm just now producing decent beers after two years. I don't want to mess with sours right now. That's a brand new fermenter. 2nd batch. I had to chunk my others bc of scratches. Seriously, trash it? Btw, I found some fruit flies in the airlock. Don't know if...

WTH is this in my beer?

Brewed an Am. Wheat and everything went good. I opened it up to taste about 5 weeks ago. Tasted fine. Due to having a child and being out of town every weekend, I couldnt bottle and keg until tonight. I go down to get the fermenter and this stuff is in there. Tasted a little sour and...

Ideas on brewery name and Music Album Beer Labels (Radiohead/Black Keys)

I love music and beer so thought about using some album covers as beer labels. I haven't printed any yet, just started designing them. Here are a couple. Radiohead - In Rainbows The Black Keys - Brothers Not sure how "legal" this is since its not my artwork, but I'm not...

There's a hop or combination of hops that give out a Fruit Loops taste

Beat me to it. When I first started drinking craft beer, this was one of the few we had thanks to our crazy beer laws at the time. I used to love it. Haven't had it in years, but I remember it definitely having fruit pebbles taste. Might have to thrown one in a mixed 6er for nostalgia sake...

Can boiling in certain keggles cause off flavors in final beer?

Hmm, seems like Better Bottles are having production issues. I was about to order some more, and everywhere is out of stock.

Can boiling in certain keggles cause off flavors in final beer?

OK, so I have been reading up on cleaning and sanitizing Better Bottles. I have been using a carboy brush for every cleaning. I saw where that is not recommended due to possibly scratching. I'm not that careful either. I assume its infections caused by scratches in the plastic? Such a damn...

Can boiling in certain keggles cause off flavors in final beer?

How often do Better Bottles last? Ive had a few for a while. One has a dent in it. Are these recyclable at any recycling place?

Can boiling in certain keggles cause off flavors in final beer?

Looks like a normal AB keg. I'll attach some pics in another post. I would like to think I ruled out infections, but its always a possibility. I purchased new Starsan thinking it might have been bad. I use distilled water when mixing it. Ive taken apart all fittings (all are from BobbyM's...

Can boiling in certain keggles cause off flavors in final beer?

I've brewed over 10 batches of beer that have been dumped. Thats 1.5 years of brewing for me. I've made a few threads on it, so I wont go into finer details. I started out with a three vessel system and batch sparging. I'm now doing BIAB in a single vessel because I wanted to cut down on...

All grain brews have the same "tart" taste - Please help!

Im having the exact same problem, except I have a ph meter so I know my ph is fine. So frustrating. I have a three vessel Single tier. I went from batch sparging to biab to eliminate variables and im still getting it. Im now brewing a stove top small batch with no copper immersion chiller...

Partial Electric/Mostly Propane WiFi enabled brewstand

Bumping this thread from a year and a half ago. I ended up not doing anything and just kind of forgot about this. In revisiting, I found that the reviews were still mixed for the wifi power strips and outlets. It seems they are still a couple year away from being perfected. So I...

Mash Ph and Temp acceptable, still astringent

Its astringent, fruity, hot, sour....just all around garbage. I've went over that list several times before and can't nail down the most prominent. The crush is whatever the lhbs uses. Its a very active store. No one's complained as far as I know. All the guys who work there use it.

Mash Ph and Temp acceptable, still astringent

I honestly have no idea whats going on. I haven't made a quality all grain brew ever (been over a year). I do/have the following: -Use 100% RO water and use EZ water (so not a water problem) -Use Ph meter and calibrate every time (so not a mash ph problem) -Use Thermapen, which is the most...

Installing a thermowell in rubber bung. Sealant needed?

I drilled a hole in one of those thick rubber bungs. Didnt make a circle...it was basically a slit. Anyway I had to put some keg lube on it to slide it through. Washed it up with some alcohol, startsanded it (that even a word?), and put my ranco probe down in there with some tape on top. So...

Installing a thermowell in rubber bung. Sealant needed?

I tried one of those too and it fit terrible. Basically just sat on top of the carboy spout with tons of room around the edges. Maybe I had the wrong one, I don't know.

Installing a thermowell in rubber bung. Sealant needed?

Do you have any problems with those bungs becoming slippery and not staying in? I have one but went back to rubber bc that one would not stay in when wet. I found the rubber ones to stay it whether wet or not.

Installing a thermowell in rubber bung. Sealant needed?

I have a 16 inch thermowell that I will be installing in a regular rubber bung. SO it will be sitting vertically in a few inches of wort. I am using better bottles. The Ranco probe will sit in the bottom of the thermowell with some tape or something over it. I plan on making the hole...

Pallet Wall Slide Out Kegerator Build w/Retro Gaming Center & Barnwood Shelf

http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/driptray/flush/FDT-5530-ND.shtml I found this 30" inch one. There's also a 36". Both are available with the option for the SS insert as opposed to the plastic one. I guess I should have searched harder.
