Need help with soda kegerator for wife!

This may sound a bit odd coming from a homebrewer but isn't it so much easier to just buy diet coke? If you do not already have the equipment for homebrewing I can't see why you would want to invest in everything for something that is readily available for a really low price. I get it if you...

    Yeast Substitution WLP090

I almost only use 090 and have used 05 in a pinch a few times. It is definitely not the same but I'm not sure of anything else that is closer, dry yeast is pretty limited.

Is SS Brewtech introducing an eBIAB system?

I'm moving electric this spring and just finished getting all the quotes. Hopefully they share more info soon as I was planning to order by the end of March.

    My new ss conical

I have the 7 gallon brew bucket and I use silicon tubing to transfer, works well for me. I typically wipe out the krausen ring with some wet paper towels then throw on the keg washer with pbw, comes out sparkling every time. If you do not have a washer then fill with pbw. Alternatively I'm...

    SS Brewtech Keg Cleaner

I have 5 or 6 2 handle kegs and 3 one handle and they all fit fine on the mark ii. My only issue with the mark ii is I wish there were more fitting options. For example o would like to use 100% of the power to clean the posts, then 100% to clean the keg itself instead of splitting the power at...

Help me figure out my next brew setup

I think I have settled on getting: 1 - 20g spike kettle with tc 2 - 5500w brewhardware ripple element with tc 3 - custom basket (400 micron) 4 - temp controller from eBay https://m.ebay.com/itm/GC-M8-2 The plan for the spike kettle is to also get a work/sparge port added in the event of...

Seeking Advice for Carbonating Cold Brew

You can do it with either one, however if it were me I would get the first one with either a growler filler or silicon tubing over the end of the tap and fill bottles at around 2psi. You can make a counter pressure filler with the second option for cheap but I don't think you need one for...

Seeking Advice for Carbonating Cold Brew

Also, sorry I didn't answer your question, that all sounds fine for carbonating but it is difficult to get the pressure right when shaking. If you can, I would fine a more repeatable way to do it. For example, put in the fridge on 30 psi for a day or 2 depending on your preference, reduce to...

Seeking Advice for Carbonating Cold Brew

Have you tried carbonated cold brew yet? I make cold brew exclusively and one day tried to mix the concentrate with seltzer. It was horrible. Granted I do not drink sweetened coffee so maybe that would make it better but it was way worse than I ever would have imagined

I have no doubt it's easy, however I am trying to eliminate plastic wherever I can.

Help me figure out my next brew setup

The price of a basket seems like a waste when you consider the whole mash tun with bottom drain is not that much more money

Help me figure out my next brew setup

Thanks for the link looks like I can run a 1650 watt element from brewhardware off of that. I am leaning towards this approach with the SS infussion 20 gallon as I'm trying to stay all stainless with the new system rather than bag

Help me figure out my next brew setup

Just looked again the inkbird is rated for 1000 watts from what I see. I will definitely need more power than that

Help me figure out my next brew setup

I figured I would need a much more power to heat up that much mash water than the inkbird can safely handle

Help me figure out my next brew setup

I am hoping to get some advice on my next brew setup. I have a couple of goals that I am hoping to achieve with my next setup: Full volume mash Wake up to preheated mash water 11 gallons into the fermenter No plastic Minimal DIY My current setup (major components) 10 gallon igloo beverage...

    Too cold outside to crash?

Put it in the fermentation chamber. Partially close the lid and find a way to cover the gap (shrink wrap, cardboard, etc) it's not ideal but you can be sure you won't wake up to frozen beer... I did this for fermentation once without an issue, assume same thing with cold crashing a day or 2

How much interest in doing Eastern Massachusetts group grain buy?

In. Not really in need of grain at the moment but will participate for at least 2 bags if this happens. Would be very happy to see a group buy again, bulk grain at beer-wine is ridiculously overpriced
