    On my last batch i actually did both I had about 8 oz hops i added with in the last 10 minutes of the boil 3@10 3@5 and 2@1minute. I will have 4 oz in secondary. :rockin:

    just for comparison sakes i used 3 oz of cascade for my pale ale and 4 oz of chinook for my chinook single hop ipa. I normally double what ever is called for dry hopping :) except the Chinook IPA i made that recipe on my own so no need to double the hops there already had that :rockin:

    Good point thats why i only use the carboy for primary and the brew pail for secondary dry hopping.. QUestion how long did you have the dryhopp hops in the fermentor and what how did you use and how much?

    Everything thats mentioned above just remember Sanitize and cleaning is 80% of brewing.. Oh and dont forget to clean up everything when your finished and sanitize it all then so its ready to use next time.. if you wait the wort on everything will dry and then you have one heck of a time cleaning...

    I just made a tasty Bitter with the Wyeasy 1968 turned out to be quite the session beer lasted less than a week in the keg..lol MMMMM My OG was 1.051 and i got it to 1.012 in 7 days with the primary around 69 degrees with no starter.. next time i will do a starter..

    I use a 6.5 gal glass carboy to primary ferment 10days to 2 weeks I love being able to see whats going on. then for secondary i a 6 gallon brew pail and add my hops there for dry hopping another week to 2 weeks..     Overflow During Fermentation

    One thing to mention i had that happen the first time a brewed with out a blow off tube and you want to make sure you dont let it get too gummed up because if you do it could clog the pores on the airlock and then you will have a blow out!     How long to get 6.5 gallons to boil?

    I have brewed in the garage a few times now once with 14 degree weather but i only had the door cracked open about 8 inches with the breeze we had i was not worried. I can boil off 3 gallons of water easy in a single extract 60min boil with steeping grains too.. i now start with 8 gallons..

    I have 1 15gal pot for a 5gal batch i have to start out with about 8 gallons because its so wide i get a ton of burn off durring the boil so i steep with 8 gallons and have been using about 1-1.5#s of specialty grains.. I also steep no higher than 155 degrees

    I got a Stone and O2 tank yesterday and used it the first time instructions say for a 1.070 + ale to let it run for 2.5min to 3 min so i went for 2.5 this time.. Plus i made a 2 day build up starter and with in 2 hours i had bubbles already.. Normally its 12 hours or so.. with the wyeasy 1056...

    So i have edited my Chinook IPA ..

    This ended up being the highest OG beer @1.076 i have brewed yet.. i did a wyeast 1056 and a 2 day buildup starter and i also did per the instructions a 2.5min oxygenation with the O2 bottle and .5micron stone. It says to do it again in 12-24 hours i figure why not.. My hope is it will...

    Starter or not to Starter??????

    Question i have a started that i made the other day and added a 2nd feeding so a total of 4cups water plus nutrients and dme in the half galon growler do i let it settle and then decant off the top fluid or pitch the whole thing in? IT was a 1056Wyeast

    I moved the extra 2 aditions @ 50 min and 30 min to the 10 and 20 min points.. Gets me frome over 220 IBU down to 180.. plus i added some victory and Wheel malt LME and DME malt & fermentables % LB OZ MALT OR FERMENTABLE PPG °L 58% 8 0 Alexander's Pale Extract 32 4 15% 2 0 Muntons Wheat DME...
