You know you're a home brewer when?

Thanks. Can't wait to tap the two fresh kegs I prepared before leaving town... hazelnut brown and English pale. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Home Brew mobile app

You know you're a home brewer when?

I'm actually in San Juan at the moment, so I'm way ahead of you...and there's no homebrew available. :) I've at least been drinking stuff from the local Old Harbor Brewery when available. Heading back to a pile of new snow in Boston tomorrow. :( Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Home...

Concord 80 Quart Stainless Steel Stock Pot Cookware

Certainly not looking for an economy kettle. Thanks for the link, though. I have a borrowed set of economy ones now and I'm really looking to upgrade. You get what you pay for with this stuff but every equipment purchase is a long (ish) term investment and I tend to dwell on these decisions way...

    2014 Brewyears Resolutions

Simplify brew day by trying biab and the no-cooling method. I can brew more often if I can cut down on the time it takes.

You know you're a home brewer when?

...when you find yourself brewing in your dreams. I woke up last night from a dream where I was brewing in my garage on the new equipment I've been putting together in my head. How disappointing to wake up from that. The good news is that everything seemed to go well with the new setup. :)...

Concord 80 Quart Stainless Steel Stock Pot Cookware

The OP mentioned that the 80 quart pot is actually 75 quarts. SpikeBrewing replied, saying that their version is actually 80 quarts because they have the manufacturer add some height to theirs. So if the same is true for the 60 quart model you won't find other Concord pots with the dimensions...

What to use for cleaning stainless beer lines?

Generous of you. I might be headed up your way later in the summer, so I'll let you know. Great sense of community in this forum.

What to use for cleaning stainless beer lines?

I just have one smallish CO2 tank that came as part of a kit my LHBS put together for me. You're right, though, it would be great to have another one. I'll let the dust settle before buying more equipment, though...been emptying my wallet on this stuff lately! Thanks for the invite to Nashua...

What to use for cleaning stainless beer lines?

Thanks, Golddiggie, I'll try PBW. I was thinking of making the hand pump just to avoid wasting gas, but I think I'll probably keep it simple for now. I'll grab some PBW at my LHBS. Can't wait to see my brew pouring out of my new taps! Thanks.

What to use for cleaning stainless beer lines?

Hey there, I'm just about done installing two beer taps in my kitchen and this forum's been a ton of help. I ran stainless beer line from the basement to the kitchen and I'm wondering what the best way to clean stainless lines is. I think I'll be making one of these to push a solution through...

    Coupon Code for Seven Bridges

Same here. I haven't been able to find a good selection of organic ingredients anywhere else. I'm all the way across the country in MA, but it's worth paying some shipping to get organic ingredients (wish shipping weren't so expensive, though). I've been happy with these guys and will keep using...

    Can I use a connect 37 & 45 degree flare fittings if I use a flare washer?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm hoping to know if it will work so I can pick up the correct flaring tool. Thanks.

    Can I use a connect 37 & 45 degree flare fittings if I use a flare washer?

I'm running my beer lines from a basement fridge to a tap on the first floor and I'm running into a snag with some flare fittings. I'm trying to connect one of a barbed swivel nut to a coupler (don't ask why...that's a whole other thread). I'm pretty sure the flare end of the swivel nut is 37...

Using welded stainless steal tubing as beer line

Planning to run two beer lines. Only one will be used at first but I'm planning ahead.

Using welded stainless steal tubing as beer line

Oh, you mean the whole trunk line is wrapped with moisture barrier, then foil tape? I guess I'm confused about what the foil tape does in that case.

Using welded stainless steal tubing as beer line

Good info. Any idea where I can get the moisture barrier wrap? And would I really need the foil tape for cold transfer if I'm using stainless lines?

Using welded stainless steal tubing as beer line

It seems like these numbers are all over the place. I've found several different resistance values and I've been calculating based on the numbers listed here. Shouldn't the resistance be calculated based on the ID instead of OD since there are different wall thicknesses on different products?

Using welded stainless steal tubing as beer line

Thanks. I'm probably going to have to find a decent flare tool, too. I have a bender and a flaring tool, but they're both pretty cheap and I wouldn't mind having better ones anyway (saying that allows me to exclude the cost from my build budget ;) ).
