That’s what I used for my first deep clean as I had them from using with my Zymatic. They don’t have the dissolvable plastic coating like many of the dishwasher tabs do now. You can also use PBW if you like which I’ll probably use every 3rd deep clean or so.

Show us your DIY AC Glycol Chiller enclosure

I'm considering building a AC glycol chiller using project plans here on the forum but I'm having a hard time finding ideas on how to make it look nice. I would like to keep my basement brewery looking nice and after explaining and showing the wife what I was planning on doing, her response...

I was looking at that too and was thinking the hydrometer cost more than the brewing system. Looks like a fun toy to have though.

Hmmm, my understanding is stirring is not necessary if you mash in below 140f to prevent doughballs. I would be curious what the hit would be to efficiency with no stirring. I gave my last batch a couple stirs at mash in and mash out. Maybe I’ll try no stir on my next brew and see how it...

Do you think this could be due to flow restrictions of the 400mesh vs 600? I haven’t really seen much flow restrictions using the basket with 600 mesh....I also use a couple handfuls of rice hulls.

I agree, it would be great IF you could program steps and time for each function. The zymatic has this and would use it for setting hop whirlpool temp/time. Hopefully Brewie will add this function in future updates.. Right now I just run two short clean cycles with pbw and a nylon brush then...

    Illinois PicoBrew Zymatic For Sale

Hello, I am selling my PicoBrew Zymatic. I've purchased it new in January 2017, and now that I have a couple other systems to brew on it is seeing less and less action. About a year ago PicoBrew replaced both pumps with a new more reliable versions (according to PicoBrew) and have not had any...

600 is going be be larger holes than the 400 so it should improve flow over the 400. If you look back at previous posts Harkin had used both and had better luck with the 600. The basket does set in front of the mash recirculation hole but the stream penetrates through fine (just deforms the...

Mine fit perfectly and has worked flawlessly on my first 2 brews. They offer it in a 400 and 600 mesh. I went with the 600 mesh as recommended earlier in the thread by HarkinBanks and it has worked very well...no drainage issues.

Awesome setup Fredrik!! Site says batch size 2.6-5.2gal....you have a couple draining options with each batch where you can either recover all the wort and trub (drain all) or leave around 3l / .79gal leaving the hot break/trub behind which will affect your total volume yield. I brewed a 3 gal...

    Brewie

Brewed on the Brewie again over the weekend. No issues, easy brew day. I do wish they would build in whirlpool options into the hop scheduler soon so I don’t have to be around to manually drop in my hops.

Brewie Recipes & Tips & Tricks

I guess I missed the mash-in setting. I think I just set it the same as my mash temp on my first brew not realizing it was a separate set point. Thanks for explaining!

Brewie Recipes & Tips & Tricks

Are you manually adding your water? If not, how are you mashing in higher than your set point? Also how important is it since mash temp is regulated and circulated?

    Brewie+ vs Picobrew Z

Yes, I'm not sure if its the case for the Brewie but the Brewie + you can add water additions manually. If you search the Brewie thread you can read in detail but issues on the B+ were from overheating wires mostly due to poor terminal connections. They seemed to get a bit of a handle on it...

Brewie Recipes & Tips & Tricks

I am also interested in this. I brewed my first batch which was a daisy cutter clone and did a single infusion mash with a 30 min sparge and hit 70% efficiency, but was a little low on volume. I did however add about 5oz of whirlpool hops to the boil vessel in a wire mesh hop basket which may...

A search for CPU fan splitter on amazon yielded a lot of results. Sorry....just noticed these are mostly 4 pin connectors.

Has Brewie responded to you ticket? Seems like a hard reset of some sort is needed.

Mine also requested the initial clean again after the update. I canceled it as I was starting my first brew and when I hit the brew button for my recipe it actually started the cleaning cycle versus the brewing cycle so I had to stop pull my mash basket and let it run. A bit of a pain but...
