    Stone 17th Anniversary Götterdämmerung?

I have both in the fridge and am excited to try both! I think you made a good choice with Enjoy By, I'm guessing you're in the NW too?

    Stone 17th Anniversary Götterdämmerung?

So my place of employment received this info sheet on Stone's 17th Anniversary ale, and I feel like it may be inaccurate compared to what I found here (http://blog.stonebrew.com/index.php/17thipa/) just based on the hop bill. What do you guys think?

Funny things you've overheard about beer

The "+1" wasn't just for my vote, but we the people :) anyway, that discussion could turn into the biggest derailment since "well actually" haha. Me at work: "Can I help you pick out a beer sir?" Customer: "Do you have any beer that tastes like water? I don't like the flavored stuff." Me: "Well...

    Oatmeal Stout Critique

I'm not sure about the proteins from the oats either. I've read that it's suggested to mash oats longer to get the sugars out, but that's all I got. I reduced the oats from 12oz to 9oz and the predicted FG is the same. I have had beersmith predict high FG's before with opposite results, like...

    Oatmeal Stout Critique

Beersmith is giving me an OG of 1.065, FG of 1.019, and abv of about 6%. The FG seems a little high though. I'm guessing its all of the oats or possibly the yeast strain?

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

Yeah I stopped taking my meds after 2 days. I really don't like pills let alone prescriptions, so that's done. I would enjoy some hoppy beer but I'm supposed to avoid carbonated beverages too. Maybe ill sneak some double ipa out of the fermenter :)

    Oatmeal Stout Critique

I was also thinking of using Maris otter instead of 2 row...what do you think? And toasting the oats seems like a great idea!

forgot to add this for a 2 gallon batch haha

    Oatmeal Stout Critique

    Sorry about that. Here we go! 4 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 1 64.6 % 12.0 oz Oats, Flaked (1.0 SRM) Grain 2 12.1 % 7.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM)...

    Oatmeal Stout Critique

Time for some critiquing! This is my first attempt at an oatmeal stout. I definitely had a little influence from Yooper's recipe. Any advice would be great!

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

TJ's Pumpkin Ale in the secondary, and a double ipa in the primary. Also, 3 less wisdom teeth in my mouth as of yesterday, no beers for me for a little bit :(

    The Full DIPA

I did some more research and good call on your part. I didn't realize you factor carapils as part of your crystal percentage. Thanks for that! And as for the dry hop, I was maybe thinking of citra/simcoe. What do you think?

    Flat Beer, Please Help!!!

What are you soaking your caps in? I've read in the forums somewhere (sorry I don't have a link) that soaking your caps in starsan and other sanitizers can challenge the integrity of the seals, even to the point of breaking down the seal. I've never had this happen myself, but just a thought I...

    Sanitation Issue at Spoetzl (Shiner)?!?!

Hey everyone. Last week I got to visit Texas for the first time and decided to check out the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner. It was a mediocre tour at best, as the tour guide seemed to be quite "scripted" if you will. As we were looking onto the bottling/canning lines through some windows, I noticed...

    2/2.5 Gallon Brew equipment?

This might be a bit late to chime in, but I just started doing 2 gallon BIAB batches recently, and luckily my LHBS had 1 gallon glass jugs that i use for primary and secondary. I like splitting up the batch because i then have the option to do different things to each one. I hope you're brewing...

    The Full DIPA

Hello everyone! So this will be my 3rd AG BIAB that I'll hopefully be tackling the Monday after next. I would love some feedback on this recipe! As you can clearly see, I also have not written a dry hop schedule for this yet, but I am always open to anything. This is for a 2 GALLON BATCH...

    First beer on your birthday...

The first beer you had on your birthday. It doesn't have to be a particular year. Just do it! Today (my birthday) I started with a St. Bernardus Abt 12.....so delicious. Who else?! Most memorable I guess haha.

    Favorite Hop Combinations

How would simcoe, citra, Columbus, cascade, and chinook be? Not in that particular order.
