Wyeast 1217-PC West Coast IPA source?

I scored a few packs of this yeast recently and would like to make a Stone IPA clone. Do you mind if I ask what your recipe was? Would you change anything if you had the opportunity to rebrew?

Wyeast 1335 for Stone IPA Clone?

*Not trying to thread jack here. Can you still get 1217? I didn't see it on morebeer website, and wyeast site says it has been archived. I would love to try that yeast in an IPA.

    Adjusting mash Ph

+1 for Bru'n water. Predicts mash pH very well in my experience. Get a decent/good pH meter from the start if you don't already have one.

    Fwh ipa

FWH and mega hop stand should do the trick. I might try that on my next IPA.

Water adjustments for Scotch Ale, boil down technique

It dawned on me as I hit send on my last post that if my water is nearly RO, all I need to do is follow the water chemistry primer sticky for any mineral additions. Does that sound about right? Thanks.

Water adjustments for Scotch Ale, boil down technique

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I was kind of surprised by the results of the water report. So what water adjustments should I be considering for this recipe given the water report and/or boil down? Also if trying to use Bru'N Water what color should I be using in the spreadsheet to best predict...

Water adjustments for Scotch Ale, boil down technique

I have recently caught the home brew "water bug" and would like to start monitoring/controlling pH during the mash. I am brewing a Scotch Ale (Skotrat's Traquair House Clone) this weekend and would like to use Bru'N Water (FYI, I am a total noob at this) to hit/maintain optimal mash pH. When...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Recently added a pump so I don't have 8-9 gallons of hot water positioned high up any more. Also transitioned current system to HERMS. HEX is in the HLT. Love this new setup. Can't wait to add more.

    Cheap compact wort pump

Thanks, Tim. That's exactly what I plan to use mine for. Just ordered one, and it's on the way.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

Just kegged mine over the weekend, and it is very cloudy too. Hit OG on brew day. I let it sit in primary for14 days (68F in swamp cooler), and FG was down to only 1.020. I racked off yeast before checking it. Oops. Doesn't taste too good right now. Slightly astringent. Suppose I'll let it sit...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

Built stands from mostly scrap wood laying around the garage, and I place them on my work bench on brew day. Breaks down for storage pretty well so SWMBO can park in garage when done brewing.

    Cheap compact wort pump

Thinking about picking one of these pumps up for HLT recirc. only. I'll be purchasing a Chugger (:D) for moving wort. From what I have gathered from some of the more recent posts, it appears that some are having issues with the "little tan" pump. Anybody having issues with the cheap black...

Damn, there are some sweet looking brew sculptures here! Mine is simple. Let gravity do the work.
