    Man, This place is Hoppin'!!!

    Welcoe to HBT. I'm in Grove City. We have a couple of local shops around here that would probably be pretty close on prices by the time you add shipping charges on your breww kit. I've only been to Gentiles on king ave in Grandview, and The Winemaker Shop on N. High. I would reccomend...

    Beer through copper for chilling?

    I do 5 gallon full boils using a keggle, 1/2 inch dia immersion chiller pumping ice water, and can cool from boiling to 70 deg in about 15 minutes, maybe 20 dending on air temp.(faster in winter as I do by boils in the garage)

    Beer through copper for chilling?

    I use a submersible pump in a 60qt cooler of ice water to pump my immersion chiller, works well, and you don't waste so much water, but it uses the ice!

    Which yeast for a belgian tripel?

    oh well, I'll just use the s-33 and see how it goes. I had already drank the chimay with dinner anyway. Thanks for everyones help. I wonder why the don't supply different recipe styles with the correct style of yeast? Yeah, I figured on 6-8 weeks primary, then a few months bottle...

    Which yeast for a belgian tripel?

    hmm, how long do you need to let a starter umm, start, before you pitch it? I've never done anything like that before. How do you know if everythings healthy and ok to use? so thats 1 gram DME to 10 milliliters water?

    Which yeast for a belgian tripel?

    I also just did the Brewers Best Dunklewiezen kit, and also their english brown ale(both also x-mas presents). The Dunkle used Munich yeast, and the English used nottingham, thats why i asked about using nottingham for a tripel. I thought that an EBA was nothing like a Tripel, so it was wierd...

    Which yeast for a belgian tripel?

    Thanks guys, I went to my LHBS looking for the white labs yeast, but unfortunatly they don't carry, or were out of it. I did a quick search on my droid phone(man I love this thing), and from what they had to choose from, the s-33 was the only one that said anything about belgian, or trappist, so...

    Which yeast for a belgian tripel?

    So, I got a Brewers Best Belgial Tripel kit for Christmas this year, and am just now getting around to brewing it. I have a question on wether or not to use the Nottingham yeast that came with the kit, or use a packet of safbrew s-33 that I just picked up while at LBHS. Any input would be...

    using titanium?

    Wow, thanks for all the replies. I work in a fairly well equipped fab shop, but we don't work with a whole lot of titanium, this was left over from a job, just happened I was talking about ordering some stainless perf, and my boss said hey, we got some Ti perf in the back. Thanks for the pics...

    using titanium?

    So, I can get 2 - 18 inch squares of titanium perf with 3/32 holes for free! My question is there any reason I can't use them to make false bottoms for my keggle projects instead of buying stainless? Also, can you weld stainless hinges to titanium?

    Newb from Columbus, OH

    I'm down here in Grove City. Welcome, there's a ton of valuable information on here. I would reccomend using bottled water from the store, I've found that Columbus city water seems to have a bit of chlorene in it, and that will give your home brew some off flavors. I can smell it once in a...

    wasted keg?

    Why couldn"t you just fill and cap sanitized bottles? The Beer is already carbed, and if capped immediately, i wouldnt think it would loose co2 would it? I'm not sure, but it would be worth a shot instead of wasting that much beer:eek:

    Who Else is Brewing for New Year's Eve?

    I'll be brewing an English Brown either tomorrow or sunday, going to a hockey game tonight. Hopefully I'll have my keggle finished next weekend to brew a Belgian Tripple.

    Partial Boil vs Full Boil
