    Gonna need more bottles....

I don't think Texas has a bottle deposit. If the do, I don't know about it. (how sad is that?) Anyhow. So there I was. In my one on one with my manager at work. She says, "Is there anything you need?" I said, "Well, honestly, I could use about 100 empty beer bottles. Not the twist off...

    first batch bottling

3/4 cup should be fine for just under 5 gallons. You can go a little less than 3/4 cup, depending on how carbonated you want it. I add the entire amount to the bottling bucket. It's just easier for me. And I don't stir it in. I boil the priming sugar in a cup or two of water. I then cool...

    Learn from my n00biness!

Hehe. Shoot.. I've been brewing for going on 8 years now and have never once taken a gravity reading. It'll be fine. Like was stated, people have done much, much worse and the beer still turned out fine. :D

    Shiner Bock

I agree, I like the black lager way more than the bock. And the Shiner Hefe is just... Not good at all. The funniest part is, most, if not all of the restaurants I've been to around here (Dallas area.) sell Shiner as an "Import." Therefore, it's more expensive than BMC. I routinely ask...

    Bottle Carbonation at Sub-room temperature

Should be fine. I think it'll take longer to carbonate at that temp, though.

    Gonna need more bottles....

I had way more than I have now. Until we sold our house and moved into our current house. With limited time and moving space, (POD) I had to get rid of some bottles. I'm building my collection back up.

    Gonna need more bottles....

All this and almost no bottles available. I still have a few weeks to gather enough, though. :mug: Top: Chocolate Oatmeal Stout Bottom Left: Edwort's Apfelwein Bottom Right: Cranberry Wheat. (Before racking into secondary and onto the cranberries.) They are normally wrapped in...

    Adding Cranberry to Wheat Ale

I've never done so, so I don't guess I'd call it "necessary." I brewed my cranberry wheat yesterday! The timeline I have planned, it should be ready by Christmas Eve!! :ban:

Where to order Apfelwein Bembels and Geripptes

Well, maybe not. When you try to order, USA isn't one of the countries you can choose from.

Where to order Apfelwein Bembels and Geripptes

This place looks promising too. Although I haven't ordered from them yet. http://www.apfelwein-shop.de/epages/61139794.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61139794/Products/0014

    Quick fermentation of WLP004

Don't know if it helps any, but I pitched this same yeast into a stout on Sunday and by yesterday afternoon the krausen was already completely gone. I remember the same thing happening the other times I've brewed this recipe as well.

I screwed up my first homebrew added too much water

6 gallons Doesn't really sound like too much water to me. Maybe half a gallon too much. If that. You'll be fine.

    Adding Cranberry to Wheat Ale

No problem. And yeah, I always do a third stage with my fruit beers. Helps a lot with the clarity.

    Adding Cranberry to Wheat Ale

Ok. Here's the recipe I used. It's basically just a very simple wheat beer with a bunch of cranberries in the secondary, so you can obviously play around with the grain, hops, etc. Here goes: 1 lbs Crystal Malt 20°L 1 lbs Belgian Cara-Pils 8 lbs Liquid wheat extract 1 oz. Cascade pellets...

    Adding Cranberry to Wheat Ale

I would say it's a fairly good round cranberry taste. But the tartness does shine through quite a bit. Which is actually what I'm going for. I love the tartness. I get lots of red color as well.

    Adding Cranberry to Wheat Ale

Sure thing. I'm at work and will have to wait until I get home to find the recipe in my folder. But I'll post it up as soon as I can. :mug:
