    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Got a new smoker-Rectec RC-700. Love it. Gonna smoke a huge brisket flat this weekend. Tried my hand at pizza last week and was amazed. Did 3 whole chickens this past weekend and tried a slightly different pellet in a smoke tube for the first hour. It really added some good smoky flavor. My...

    DELTA BREWING SYSTEMS GIVEAWAY

I can always use more gear. Thanks for the opportunity!

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

I dry hopped at day 2 1/2 at 66 and 3 days later a second, larger drop at 60. Held that for 3 days then did an almost 2 day cold crash.

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

I mashed at 152 for 60 minutes. Drinking a tasting of this on day 2 of kegging (1 day at 35 psi) and there are absolutely no off flavors at all. It's pretty much what I wanted at this point. It doesn't taste or feel dry at all and that's odd. I use RO water and follow Brewfather's water...

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

I kegged this yesterday and I ended up with 84% attenuation. Much more than I actually wanted but the sample tasted pretty good. I'm thinking maybe all the oxygenating and yeast nutrient (that I don't usually use with dry yeasts) increased it a bit. I have read a number of reviews that stated...

    Cryo Hops and You!

I've used Simcoe, Citra and Mosaic Cryo a few times and liked them specifically in whirlpool and dry hop but I like the LupoMax hops that are new and have made me a huge fan. I did 2 brews with some and the aroma went to 11. Taste wise I haven't noticed a huge difference but just opening the...

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

My Tilt isn't always accurate but as of today, not even 4 full days after pitching Verdant, I'm down 5 points lower than projected. If this is correct, that'll be 83% attenuation. I read that attenuation is "medium to high" so I guess I'm on the higher end. I don't want this to come out dry but...

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

I did something similar yesterday as well. I want a juicy beer but not one that looks like OJ. I've tasted a few lately by some local breweries and I liked them enough to give it a try. I think I may try some biotransformation dry hopping followed by a larger dry hop 3 days later. Hey, it'll...

    Imperial A37 POG

I realized that I never updated this thread and I started it. So, here's where it went---I also got some LupoMax Citra and Mosaic so I decided to use those hops with POG yeast. I made an 11 gallon batch and gave half of it to my twin to take home and he used A07 Flagship. The only difference...

    RIP Mike Tasty McDole

I've enjoyed lots of podcasts listening to Tasty thru the years. He'll be missed. RIP Tasty!

    LupoMax Hops

So here's my thoughts on using Citra and Moscaic LupoMax hops (with A37 POG) IT'S FREAKING DELICIOUS! I added both of these hops as a dry hop on day 3 then cold crashed a few days later and kegged on day 7. 2 days later, I couldn't wait and had some. I am very pleased with what I got. Aroma...

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

I'm curious about this yeast in a WCIPA as well as a big Pale Ale. I would think mashing at 149 then using a bit extra yeast nutrient and maybe extra oxygenation would help with a better attenuation. I don't care if it clears up, I'm just a bit tired of drinking and brewing NEIPA's and have...

    Proximity Malt

Thanks, I've visited their site and emailed a few of those malsters. Most had very expensive shipping charges that made them not worth it for me. I'm still looking around though.

    Proximity Malt

Label Peelers has a big sale on malt and I grabbed a sack of Proximity Base malt for $34. It is costing me $27 to ship but I get it in 2 days and that's about what I pay for Great Western at my LHBS. I really love Mecca Grade and still plan to buy more in the future but even splitting it 50/50...

    Mecca Grade Estate Malts

I use 15-20% but I like rye. Rimrock is great too. I noticed the difference right away. But, you may want to start at about 10% if you've not used to rye. Plus, unless you're doing a no sparge, you will do better to use some rice hauls in the mash.

    Imperial A37 POG

I'm actually glad to hear this because I'm not making a hazy beer.......more like a WCIPA I guess. I'd really like to try this yeast at 95 and at 80 in 2 different batches to see how the temp affects it but I can't do that time. And I'm hoping for 6 days in the fermenter and 3 on gas and the...

    Imperial A37 POG

Any other reviews of this yeast? I'm about to brew with it this coming weekend and was curious of how people feel about it.

    LupoMax Hops

So am I wrong to think it's best to use these LupoMax hops exclusively in whirlpool and dry hopping only or should I sneak in a tiny bit the last 5 minutes or so? Haas' video says use it wherever you want but they seem to feel it's best after the heats off.
