Good brew for hot weather at the lake

I vote a dry hopped wheat. I brewed this recently and it is really refreshing.

    3 weeks and still undercarbonated

Did you measure the sugar by volume or by weight? I made that mistake when I first started. 4oz of volume is not nearly as much as 4oz of weight, at least when dealing with corn sugar.

    Help with Next batch

This is a really lame thread, but I need help deciding what to brew for my next batch. I am drinking a Dry hopped wheat right now, and I am bottling a caramel amber this week. I have no idea what to do next. I want it to be on the sessionable side of things, what are some of your favorites? (I...

American Amber Ale Caramel Amber Ale

Mashing as I type. I love Ambers, hopefully mine turns out as well as others. This thread has some of my favorite beer pr0n.:D edit: wow, my homemade candi sugar was a fail. I did half/half with cane sugar and brown sugar instead. I hit the OG dead one, hopefully the taste is in the neighborhood.

    kegarator turned fermentation chamber help

You could fill the holes with spray foam insulation like "Great Stuff". As far as the rust goes it would probably be best to clean it with a wire brush and then paint with a a rust inhibitor.

Quickly fix beer that is too bitter for my tastes

Mix it with bud light, its basically malty water plus its dirt cheap.

    Dry Hop/Aging

If you aged it you would want to wait to dry hop until a few days before you drink it, otherwise all that aroma and flavor would be gone.

Looking for guinea pigs with a catch :)

Not sure yet, if the gravity sample is any indicator its going to be awesome. Its going to hit bottles this weekend. Mine is not exactly a clone, my LHBS was out of Nelson Sauvin, so its a hoppy wheat, just with Citra instead of NS.

Super general recipe for a lager or brown/amber ale?

This was a very tasty amber ale I made a few months ago. Munich 60 Amber Ale I am not sure how simple you are wanting to go, but this is an extract with steeping grain recipe.

    Northern Brewer Kit Instructions

Most sites still promote secondary due to the fact that it helps sell carboys, I think most here would agree that it is not necessary. You have the right idea for the late LME addition.

Help with my Citra IPA recipe

I recommend changing your 60min hops to a first wort hopping. I recently made a very similar IPA to yours the and the FWH really "smoothed" out the bitterness, made it much more drinkable to the uninitiated.

Please help me with my first brew ever

I would recommend using the search function and reading the stickies. That said, adding more honey will not sweeten the mead, the yeast will just eat the sugar and make more alcohol. Yes, you could use really any fruit. I am not familiar with the common yeasts used to make mead, but what you...

First BIAB did not go so well

It was a really cheap grain bill, so not a huge loss, but I am still pretty bummed. It smells pretty good, so maybe after a few of my good brews I will be a able to choke it down

First BIAB did not go so well

I found out this weekend while doing my second BIAB that the thermometer I used last time was way off. So I was mashing at like 163-168... I took a sample, its at 1.010 really thin and sweet. I guess I will bottle it up and see how it turns out when cold and carbed. Don't use a a cheap...

    Ho big was my mistake???

DO NOT DUMP IT. Give it another day, if you dont see anything pick up a pack of dry yeast like us-05 or nottingham. Sprinkle it in there an let it do its thing.
