New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Cold crashes work. Oxidation is not a side effect. I firmly believe there's something else. Too often with any issue, the brewer blames something to absolve them of blame. When it's something to do with their own process. I.e diacetyl. You may have an airlock somewhere. The whole "step...

Raspberry, Vanilla, Coconut & Chocolate with hops

It works in competition, under 34C - Experimental beer, explain your purpose and base style, and include any special ingredients used. but your right in regards to balancing the beer, it'll be difficult to get flavours layered throughout, but i think its do-able (the chocolate is my only real...

Help me figure out a hop schedule for stone delicious IPA Clone

Interesting hop bill. I know you weren't planning on cloning the beer exactly, so it makes sense, I think I'll do similar malt but spit Vienna and Munich evenly. My dryhop will be all El-Dorado too. Lemon drop at 0 with one or both calypso /nugget. With 60/30 additions too.

Raspberry, Vanilla, Coconut & Chocolate with hops

I recently judged my first BJCP competition over here in NZ, and we came across what was called a "Jellytip Stout" (In New Zealand a Jelly tip is an icecream on a stick using coconut/vanilla icecream as the main base, with a raspberry jelly top section, and covered in chocolate). google if if...

    Show us your Kegerator

Glue is your friend. Just don't cover the coils at the back. Pain black with chalk board paint and frame accordingly (this isn't mine, but I built the TARDIS further back the same way).

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

See now I really enjoy this style and I've made afew. But there's a clear difference between haze and murk. These pictures epitomise that. Personally I much prefer the clearer ones, while they still keep a somewhat hazy appearance.

Double IPA Pliny the Elder Clone

Exactly. The yeast essentially creates and eats the s**t it makes. Haha.

Double IPA Pliny the Elder Clone

Diacetyl is a yeast health/ fermentation thing generally. (Infections aside). Although to be fair diacetyl of some level is present in most ales. It's just not detectable to human taste buds. When the levels go up the butter flavour and overly sweet caramel flavours ask go up, meaning a fall...

    New England IPA hater

Agree. It's no different to those who add all sorts of weird stuff to goses and Berliners to be different. Etc. same goes for fruit IPA and even milkshake IPA.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Thanks, yeah the Mangrove Jacks packets are 10g ratherthan the 11.5g of the fermentis stuff. Couplethat with longerlag times on these yeasts, and I've found that you're better off over pitching your dry yeast on M44. I've since adopted this for all MJ yeasts I use, with good results. Depending...

looks ok to me?? Are you talking aboutthe darker color? I would suggest a darker crystal was used. if it was oxidised it would be considerably darker IMO

Tips on brewing a New England IPA

I haven't double dryhopped or biotransformed etc on a NEIPA. I've double dryhopped plenty of IPA's and so o,n but never really saw the results fro mteh extra effort (as small as it was) Just my opinion. But either way, there are plenty of guys who swear by it.
