    Buying too much at once?

No, I've eventually moved on from Mr Beer. It was an excellent starting/learning platform though. You can brew beer the easiest way possible with it. I learned the basics of homebrewing with it, but eventually moved on to a 5 gallon kit, did a few partial mashes and then moved on to all-grain...

    Buying too much at once?

I don't think there should be a problem with buying a few different recipes at one time. My wife bought me a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas last year, after I brewed the 2 that it came with it, she asked me if I was really into it. I told her that I was and she went nuts on the Mr Beer website...I...

Tiny metal balls in floating thermometer

I'm sure that the glass and the balls fell to the bottom of the mash tun and didn't make it past the lautering process. I was more concerned about toxins being released into the wort more than anything.

Tiny metal balls in floating thermometer

Anyone know what they are made out of and if they pose a health hazard? I had one break inside my mash tun tonight. I didn't lose all of them in there, but a good amount of them fell out of the bottom. I'm still going through with everything as planned I just wanted to know what they are...Hope...

Six Point Sweet Action Clone Recipe?

I have just attempted a clone batch of Sixpoint's Sweet Action today. I'm hoping that it comes out tasting pretty similar to the real thing.

    Temp fluctuation & Pilsner fermentation

I have a closet in my living room that always stays cool in the winter months. I have been monitoring the temperature for the past week or so in hopes of successfully fermenting a pilsner style beer. I've noticed that the average daytime closet temp is about 55-60, and at night it may drop down...

    Secondary active fermentation question

The only reason why I wanted to re-pitch the yeast is because the ABV is pretty high and I want to make sure that it has enough yeast to get the job done. The OG was 1.101 after the boil.

    Secondary active fermentation question

I have a question about this, since I have never been down this road before... In my secondary, last Wednesday, I added about 5 lbs of cherries to my imperial stout. Fermentation is still active today (a week later). Not as much as it was, but the airlock releases CO2 about every minute and a...

I am already a beer snob! how?

The only kind of fizzy piss water that I can somewhat tolerate drinking is Bud Light Wheat. I truly love delicious craft beer and would go out of my way to drink it...but still don't know if that classifies me as a beer snob:confused:

    Fruit in Beer

How did the raspberry flavor come out with the fruit added to the mash? I've never done it that way, I have always added into the secondary.
