    The oils from the chocolate could have subdued the foaming. Also with the chocolate it may be a lot for the yeast to handle. What did you hydrometer say? Did you rehydrate the yeast?

Therefore when I recalculated for the new gravity the balance was off (malty/hoppy) and you would be able to taste 110IBU's instead of 80. Unless I am wrong about how IBU's work. I've always been...

    Hell yeah, I am brewing a Citra IPA tomorrow morning! I do tend to lean more toward American styles, mostly because that's what I like to drink aside from a select few. Keep 'em comin'!

    Thanks Northernlad. Brew day has been postponed so I will take the time to get the hops right. Dirty Martini, can you suggest a better strain to use? I thought the BU:GU was fairly balanced and the final IBU's will be around 70-80 to hide the sweetness of a higher FG. Citra DIPA it is!

    I changed to all 1oz additions bringing the IBU's up to 60 also giving it a little more flavor and aroma. Also upped the dry hop to 2oz. I think that will be bitter enough for this round. I am brewing this one tomorrow morning.
