St. Bernardus Prior 8 Clone [Clone Brews]

I would like to attempt the St. Bernardus Prior 8 Clone in the Clone Brews book as outlined below. According to St. Bernardus, the Prior 8 has the following stats: ABV = 8% OG = 18 Plato (1.074) Color = 50 EBC Bitterness = 20 EBU The recipe below has differing stats when plugged into...

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

Agreed. It hasn't official found a home yet in the house... I get in trouble when I leave it in the oven [emoji852]️.

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

I got a baking steel (1/2" thick) for Christmas. I still need to get used to it but it turned out some pretty good pizza.

    The Water Engine

Can you identify the version number within the Spreadsheet in addition to the file name? Maybe even keep track of the revision history in another tab of the file. I often change the file name to my recipe name and date brewed which will remove the version number in the file name.

How does everyone store their Specialty Grains?

    +1 for reasonable volumes.

    The Water Engine

Understood. The only reason why I ask is that I ran into a situation where my Breiss Brewers Malt ended up having a DI pH of 5.4 which is significantly different than the DI pH referred to in The Water Engine and MME. I understand every maltster is different. As we discussed already, it...

    The Water Engine

No problem! I guess I have a silly question. Where did the information come from to populate the malt class database?

    Yeast Options for Raspberry Wheat

My FIL wants to brew 10 gallons (split batch) of Raspberry Wheat and bought the AG kits from Midwest Supplies; we plan on doing it in 3-4 weeks. I have a 10 gallon batch of Kolsch finishing up next week (also a split batch) and I used K-97 in one of the fermenters. I was thinking of reusing...

    Wanted: Mash pH Measurements

pH Measuring Equipment - Apera Instruments PH60 (stored in 3M KCl, calibrated each brew day) In addition, I included the software used to determine the additions and the targeted pH. Note: Depending on the software used the calcium chloride measurement will vary between mass (Bru’n Water) and...

    Odd Brun Water screen

Totally agree with you! In this case, it seems to be part of the methodology the developer used. I pulled the instructions from the hyperlink below. https://sites.google.com/site/brunwater/home/troubleshooting

    Odd Brun Water screen

I believe there is a setting in the options to allow for iterative calculations: In Excel (windows), go to File/Options/Formulas and enable Iterative Calculation. In Excel (mac), go to Preferences and then look under heading “Formulas and Calculation” and open “Calculation”, then click box...

MashLab Brewing Software | Free for HBT

I figured I would check-in and see how the production is going. I was wondering if you considered integrating Brewerwall as the main repository for all the grains, hops, yeasts, etc. Thanks for your hard work!
