You inspired me to begin propagating from my torpedo. I have since converted this recipe to AG. I will be brewing a ten gallon batch tomorrow. Just waiting on a big starter.

Man, I just bought 16 sanke kegs and I don't even know why(other than they were $30 a piece) I am thinking of converting a couple into fermenters and maybe dispensing out of a couple.

ps- you can check your hydrometer by using 60 degree water and the reading should be 1.00. If it isn't 1.000 then you will know how to adjust your readings based on where your Hydrometer sets @ 0

Maybe you should type in Beersmith.com and get a trial of the software/ Download the software and then open it and click on new recipe. Type in your ingredients and it will give you an estimate of the starting gravity(as well as final). It will be close. Then you can type in your FG and see what...

Here is a visual comparison to my favorite beer SN Torpedo. I had one last night after two weeks in the bottle and it's getting better. I am trying to wait another week and then fridge it for a week before drinking it down!!!

Little extra info. I did the steep in a smaller amount of water and I made a weak 2.5 pounds of LME wort along w/ the wort from the grains to boil the hops in my 60 min. boil. I added the remainder of the LME @ 15mins. I have a 5.5 gallon pot so I boiled about four gallons.

Yeah, way short! at least 7-14 days in primary. Your hydrometer will tell you when the main fermentation is done. This is an in depth discussed subject on this site. I used the search bar and have read for days about this and other questions I had. Start w/ this one...
