    Yet I Digress . . .

Like Dylock in another thread I also picked up a couple gallons of apple juice from Whole Foods in the one gallon glass jugs. This is probably where the similarities part. I really had better intentions on starting my "experiment" with a little more knowledge on the subject. Yet I digress...

Is this a craigslist score or a dud?

Kewl . . . Just trying to give a helping hand from 650 miles away. You'll find what your looking for with Craigslist it just takes time. There are other ways to bottle/condition without doing it 12 oz. at a time. Keep up the good fight and . . . ROLL TIDE :rockin:

Brew 4 gallons instead of 5?

I was thinking along the same lines . . . but for a different reason . . . I want to use 5 gallon carboys for primaries with Lagers. This is what I was thinking . . . Scale down to a 4 gallon batch OR a 5 gallon Carboy and a 1.4 gallon glass wine jug. It will take up a little extra room but...

    Empty beer bottles?

Was it horrible because it was in the plastic bottles or because you were less experienced ??? My friends are LAZY . . . I've helped them dump 5 gallon batches in 40 oz. bottles while maybe getting one flat one in the bunch. To each there own I guess. . . Their way of thinking is its less...

    Empty beer bottles?

My self I have been doing the Michelob Lager two 12's at a time and have a local party store 2 blocks away that lets me scour their back room for pop top bottles . . . Someone sure likes St.Paulis Girl in the 24 oz. bottles. On another note I have a buddy that laughs about it and puts 80% of...

    Simple Malt Extract recipe

Don't be intimidated . . . It's no harder than making a good pot of chili or anything else. Do you want it out of a can or tweak it a little to your taste. Practices makes perfect or better as the case may be. In less than 10 batches you'll be digging up an old cooler and making better BEER...

Glass Carboy with bubbles in the glass . . .

I tried to take some pics but they don't seem to come out with it full of water. Maybe if i peel the sticker and back light it with a darker background. The bubbles as small, maybe a little bigger than the size of a dot with a ball point pen. I hate to use the analogy but maybe the size of a...

Glass Carboy with bubbles in the glass . . .

I picked up a 5 gallon glass carboy from a local water company. I thought I was well on my way to a steady supply of them at a decent price. As it turns out there are tiny bubbles in the glass through out the jug. After reading a bunch of horror stories on here and other places I'm leaning...

    Musty Basement and Plastic . . .

Very much still a newb . . . I've helped brew a few batches at a friends place where I feel he does everything at inconsistant room temps. Sometimes a 10 degree difference up or down. He likes the dark full tasting brew and dont mind the suprises, I lean towards the crisp pale types and want...
