    Yeast Starter question

    nutrient at flame out, 15 min. and swirl the flask everytime you pass it. i would just pitch a new yeast or if its above 1.060 then 2 packs. thats what im doing until i get a decent yeast harvest of different yeast and get my stir plate going. just follow the packs direction

    ya i have to enter it in mobile. brad smith sent me a reply stating it cant be done yet through the mobile app. dont realy need the desk top version with the iphone one. cant justify the 30 just to nudge my lazy side.

    how on earth do you take a beersmith file and put it into beersmith mobile? or is there no way. just to clear it up i downloaded a beersmith file from here. i dont have the desktop version because i have the mobile one, iphone. when i go to open it on my iphone it wants to use dropbox. thanks

    What would you do?

    im in the same boat. i was going to add some to the priming sugar when i was ready to bottle so when it goes into the bottle bucket i get a nice mix.

    Hefe a wee bit harsh.

    so I made a Hefe drone the recipe page. I had no zest peeler so I scraped the zest off the pith. now after conditioning its a bit sour and harsh. although I can drink it I was thinking of ways to sweeten it in the glass. maybe some orange in he glass at serving? what do u think.

    ya well I just tasted mine. it was good last week today a little more bitter I'm thinking from to much pith. couldn't find my zester and tried to peel as much off as I could. so now I think when I serve it I need to add some sweet to counter act. dam

    Efficiency question

    I did a pumpkin ale as well and I had 7 points lower the suggested, for pre and post. I used three cans of pumpkin in the mash. I think it doesn't account for the added ingredient. the pumpkin has to take something away.

    in a small mason jar i have around an inch on the bottom. some may be trub but i was going to separate that today. and thanks i am better, i have no idea what brought it on. but it was a severe anaphylaxis to something.

I put it on the counter fri night to warm it up to use sat afternoon. well, a bad reaction sent me to the Er for 6 hours. now being sun, brew day, can I just pitch this with no starter made? it's going into a pumpkin ale...

    hefeweizen yeast layer

    that beer should have been done in the prim 7 days after brewing, then in the bottle for 1-2 weeks. wheat beers are done quick from what i read and from the 2 i have done. im sure others will chime in. post a pic if you can.

    after reading this i still dont see where the up to 20 gal fermenter question has been answered. i think i may go with the spraysmarter conical diy thing. i guess you can get a 10-15 gallon bucket but theres no relief valve, and will the legs support the 15 gallon of wort.
