    Leaky keg help

I had that recently. I replaced the prv and it was fine. Amazon/ferroday sells a four pack of prv for $10

    Fermenting in a corny keg?

It'll be fine. I've done 2.5 gal batches in 5 gallon kegs too

    Fermenting in a corny keg?

I put about 4.5 gallons of wort into my corny keg, and use fermcap, and it works well

Make your own beer, they said. You'll save money, they said.

I just added up all my online beer receipts for equipment and it was like $1100. Eesh. I think, in theory, if I keep brewing forever, and pretty much only drink my beer instead of buying from the store, I should come out ahead in 2-3 years. We'll see.

More shopping advice: Torpedo vs Corney Kegs

I've owned both the regular and torpedo 2.5 gallon kegs, and I liked them both. Maybe a small preference for the regular since the hardware was all standard, the posts on the torpedo are different so my deep socket didn't fit.

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

I just did a pale ale with Verdant. 5 gallons, pitched the yeast into the wort dry. 1.054 to 1.012, 77% AA

    Head scratching keg issue

I bought 4 used kegs a few months back and have had to deal with 2-3 leak issues when they are full of beer. No bueno. I just bought 4 more, and all of these are getting new rubber, poppets, and prv's.

    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

The krausen on my pale ale hasn't dropped after a week even though fermentation is over. Cool.

    This doesn't look right

I'm no expert but that looks like krausen to me

Bells Two Hearted IPA, Soapy taste

I don't get it with Cascade, but I get soapy flavor with Centennial, with both homebrew and commercial. I stopped using it for that reason.

some initial questions from someone starting to look into kegging...

Readymade kegerators work good they just cost more than DIY

What is going on with my IPAs?

It looks like my wort does in the fermenter during the process of active fermentation - all sludgy and opaque
  14. M

What is going on with my IPAs?

I'm in the 'that isn't oxidation' camp. I've brewed many beers basically not paying attention to oxygen at all and never had anything remotely close to that. THat said I have no idea what could cause a beer to look like that

    EVA + DuoTight + ... Picnic Tap?

That's cool. How do you thread a picnic tap?

    Co2 leaking around keg lid

This technique did the trick for me, half my kegs don't seal unless I do it that way

    RO water from store machine

What brand was the machine? I think some RO systems add minerals after the RO stage?

Houston... do I have a problem?

Yeast is a mysterious creature. Enjoy the delicious looking beer

Floating Dip Tube - Which One?

How did these work for you? Was considering the same for weighting the tubing + dry hopping.

    Lallemand New England 11g yeast

I've used this and the Gigayeast Vermont, which I think is the same strain, and liked the dry very much. My notes for the batch mention pineapple. I used one packet into 2.5 gallons of wort, no rehydration.
