    ^ what he said, there is nothing worse than running out of co2 and not having a spare, I use two tanks, one in the kegerator and one in the fermenting fridge for carbing beer. There have been a few times also that I have pulled the taps on the kegerator and nothing came out cuz the CO2 was gone...

    Do you tip a bartender when filling a growler?

    I beleive this is very true, there are quite a few things that servers or bartenders dont have control of... this is a problem for management not your server I read a great article one time in City Pages about how to get good service in a resaurant and I think that should be posted outside...

    you can probably find it somewhere in dublin, its called whitewater brewery out of northern Ireland, its nothing to special but is still craft brew... they offer three or four different bottled beers... its not bad stuff and better than the majority of beers there Smithwicks is good and bass...

    Issue with doing half batches

    I made a small chiller for half batches out of 10 ft of copper tubing for under fifteen bucks and it works great, saved me money when I first started cuz I kept having to buy ice. I still use my small chiller for making starters with

    Look in the recipe section for an american stout, they tend to have more hop character than others.

    Fermenting in a mini-fridge

    Not sure about yours but my serving temp is lower than my fermenting temp with lagers and the same as my lagering temp and it cycles as normal
