    Keggle Suggestions

I have the same false bottom and love it also, very sturdy and allows very little grain thru. Also aids in mash temps due to the extra water volume and allows step mashing without scorching grain.

    Lid seal

Can't believe the top seal for a 14.5 gallon blichmann lid seal cost 25 bucks, for a strip of rubber. Mine split in a spot removing the lid for cleaning. Anyone have ideas or a cheaper replacement.

    All Grain Setup Questions

Spend the money on a pump and fly sparge has improved every part of my set-up. I mash in a 15 gallon Keg and fly sparge from my 15 gallon keg with a pump and i always seem to hit my OG attempt. I mash and then sparge, then clean keg and use it for my boil, Because i only have two kegs and one...

Why do folks brew 10 and 20 gal batches?

I have recently decided to start doing 10 gallon batches because the 5 gallon batches go quicker than expected, :drunk: out in my shop with two buddys we drank a 5 gallon batch in two evenings working on a car. My keggles are 15.5 so i should have no problem. I hope.

    False-bottoms and efficiency

Not sure of the science but I have a adventures in brewing keggle with false bottom that has 2.5 gallons before it touches the grain bed, and my beer smith efficiency is always above 75 percent. I would think during mash heavier sugars would sink below the screen and during fly sparge it would...

Things I learned on first all grain batch.

I have a similar setup, but I fly sparge and only use one pump, on my 5 th AG and doing well, but I found out as you will during your mash the SS kegs actually go up in temp after grain is added to tun and heat is off, so I found out that you need some way to move it away from the hot rack...

Bottling vs Kegging (Already have Kegerator)

Kegging is far more efficient than bottling ! No more washing, no more storing, no more worries about bacteria in bottles, no more waiting for carbonization ! Heck ya it's worth it !
  16. Jamming

First kegging. Head but no carbonation?

30 psi shake and shake, purge off a couple short blasts to get out any o2 then shake, I stand mine on its top then bottom then top a few times, you will hear the co2 being absorbed in the beer. Cold time, then :mug: 6-10psi for serving.

    My new keggles

Why would you circulate the water in the same tank, sparge ? What's the upper tube for.

anyone else have a squeeling pump

Its quiet until the liquid is done out of my liq tank, I only restrict it on the output side. My directions say don't run dry, but it should say don't run without a liquid load or a full pump housing. It's wet and squeals like a hooker at a vibrator convention. :D

anyone else have a squeeling pump

I stand corrected, your right this pump should not be run dry. But its technically not dry, just not under load, squeals like a pig ! Guess i will just have to watch water levels really close !
