    Restaurant grade sanitizer

    I'm running low on starsan. I have a gallon on the way, but if I spend one more dime SWMBO is gonna kill me. I work in a restaurant and figured if it's good enough to eat off of, I can brew with it. Any thoughts or comments?

    URGENT - Is DME sanitized

    No sure if DME is necessarily sanitized or pasteurized, but unopened bags are pretty sanitary. What you did was essentially a 'late extract addition' which is used to keep color a bit lighter. I'd be more concerned that it all was mixed in since you were already cooling.

    Is it hooked up correctly? I mean is your fridge plugged into the controller? Try giving it at 2-3 degree differential, see what happens.

    As this is my only flask, and I desperately need this starter (the brew it will be pitched into is actually a 'starter' for another big beer) I decided not to chance it at all. I plan to call my lhbs to verify tomorrow. Thanks everyone!

    Can i boil my flask?

    How can I tell if my flask is able to be boiled then put into a cold water bath without breaking? There are no markings on it besides gradations (?) I'm about to start soon, and don't wanna find out the hard way.
