    Allergies & meds

I use sublingual (under-the-tongue) drops twice a day. Better than shots, cheaper, and don't have to have appointments. plus the testing they use is a blood test - more accurate, more wide range, less costly, and they don't punch you 85 times with a bunch of little needles. my dr.s are...

    What would you call this?

with ale yeast at ale temps tho???? it does get kudos from the "I don't like dark beer" / "I don't like homebrew" crowd. has good foam but NO body. and low alc. so you can have a couple liters on a hot day (after the yard work is done and the dangerous stuff like...

    What would you call this?

My buddy, "Mr. Jim", made this a few years ago. Good brew: 5 lb Breiss 2 row pale 1 lb flaked maize 1 lb rice syrup solids 1 oz hallertau bittering, 1/2 oz Saaz finishing hops. Step mash the malt and maize at 122 and 158 for 20 min and 1 hr; mash out 10 min at 170, sparged w/ grain...

Scorched spot in bottom of boil kettle!

aye, aye.... All the "kits" we've done have had only light malt extract until now; this one had a can of amber. Done the same method before without this problem - added cool water to 170 steeping water (with a little bottom heat going) and stirred vigorously until the wort was consistent in...

Scorched spot in bottom of boil kettle!

Was making a kit brew the other night (LD Carlson / Brewer's Best German Altbier Style); and I steeped the grain in 2 gal of water. Added that water and 2 more gal to the 30 qt. pot on the outside burner. Temp probably 140 when I added a can of light ME, and a can of amber and some more water...

    Valve in plastic primary?

Well, long story short me and my buddies were gonna bottle some brew, but after racking it into the bottling bucket we decided a tertiary ferment was in order (for more sedimentation). so we let it go in the spigoted bucket. Now, I'm off work this week, and wondering if I could brew me a...

    mmmm.....Tacos

Yeap, seen these on internet sites dedicated to TaP. however, none of the taquerias here in town have 'em... so I have yet to sample "truly" authentic TaP. They're only about 8 times better than the ones I make at home, so I fear I have a long way to go. FWIW, the recipe I have you can get...

    Couple newbie questions....

2nd post... bear with me & my cronies as we learn this... We have done 2 batches of AG - an American Gold and an American Light. We are using malt, flaked maize, and rice syrup solids in each one. AG has 10 lb / 2 lb / 1 lb respectively; and the AL has 5/1/1. I got this recipe from a buddy...

    New Guy

...well, not new to internet forums, but certainly new here... actually 3 of us at work are partners (bought all the stuff together and share the work); we're only on our 6th batch of brew (have one still conditioning, a couple gone, others in various stages of aging and consumption....)...
