I usually add 1 gal. frozen bottled water and 1 gal. cold from the fridge bottled water to 3gal. of boiled wort and never have had a problem. 1 gal. bottled water freezes over night.

What is the discount on this bulk buy? Is it on the shipping cost?

thanks for the info. i think i will make a pastefrom barkeepers friend and let it dry on the surface than give it a good scrub. hope that does it.

I got my keggle back from the welder a couple of weeks ago. I calibrated my site glass today and noticed rust around the coupling on the inside where the welder did some sanding. Is there any way to get rid of this rust or am I screwed.

I found a cpvc fitting and hack sawed it in half and used that as a nut. It worked great. thanks for all the help. NAZZ

Yes I found them also. When I got them home they were a little too small to fit over the 3/4" nipple. I don't have a way to grind out the middle to make them larger. I did find a 3/4" female to 1/2" reducer. I am going to try and hack saw it in half and I think that should work.

I guess the problem I am having is the hole in my cooler is larger than I thought it was going to be. I had to use a 3/4" nipple to make it a better fit. I can't find SS washers and nuts in 3/4" at bargainfittings.com or weldlessfittings.com. It all seems to be 1/2".

I just did my keg today. Way easier than I thought it was going to be. No jig needed, only took 5 min. maybe less Good luck

plastic zip tie won't work, I need something like a nut and washer to put pressure on the coolers rubber washer to keep it water tight. If I can't find a thin enough SS nut maybe i can find a plastic nut and washer.

I put together a 70 qt. Mash Tun this week. All went well and it works great. The only problem is on the inside I used an electrical conduit box lock nut that I thought was stainless steel. I kept water in the cooler over night to check for leaks and it looks like rust on that nut. I guess it is...

Northern Brewer is very good, I also really like Brewmasters Warehouse, very fast with good prices and very friendly. You can input your recipe with all the amounts you need on their site and they will package it all up and send it ASAP.

I try and support my LHBS as much as I can, but Brewmasters Warehouse has been great for me. Very fast, even getting here in two days and the prices are good. Very nice if you have a problem and need to speak to someone.

Is there a certain kind of music you always listen to when brewing? I seem to always listen to southern rock. Lynyrd Skynayd, Marshall Tucker, Neil Young, Hank Williams Jr. and more. Just feels right I guess. I just finished what will be an Oaked Vanilla Bourbon Porter (D-Day). Cheers NAZZ
