Probably not, i would wait another 2 days and then step up.
I harvested alot of yeast from bottles and it always took them 2 - 5 days to ferment out the first step.
A clear sign of fermentation are bubbles sticking to the side of the vial. Of course this could also be something else than...
Nice project, love the ESP8266 platform. Sucks that the brewpi is programmed on photon.
Have you thought about measuring gravity somehow? I played around with cheap body scales, they are pretty accurate if the temperature remains stable.
Hey MisterThirsty,
Wow, this is a beautiful pellicle.
My experience with brett only brews was, that the brett continued to chow slowly on the sugars until the gravity was as low as 0.001 - 0.003.. I never added any other yeast for bottleing.
Cheers!
I think you made the right decision. The Spark is the future. I hope multi chamber support will be added soon.
The old arduino works very well, but there is no development anymore.
Why use the full pack?
Just put the leftover yeast in a mason jar. You can pre sterilize the jars in a pressure cooker (lids included). If you dont have one just boil them before use.
For my last CDA i used just 220g (7.7oz) of dehusked carafa III for a 19l (5 gal) batch. I think it was not dark enough and i would go to 300g (11oz) next time.
I never heard about an existing software doing that. Should be possible to programm, one would have to create a database with the recipes. The names for malts etc would have to be standardized.
About the mangrove jack yeast, i would just choose what fits best for the style you want to brew...
New link for the calculator:

I also made a guide for constructing your own truncated cone bag with alot of pics:

Try the BIABacus excel sheet, enter you kettle size and play around with full volume additions. As far as i recall i did 21liter batches with a 29liter pot by diluting after pulling the bag.
You can download the sheet form here:

Very true, i am also a minimalist in brewing. BIAB is wonderfull, i use an induction stovetop for heating, no worries about burnt isolation. The only complex system must be the brewpi controller i use for my fermentation fridge.
