American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

Hey Jukas, thanks a ton for a wonderful recipe. My OG was high at 1.067, but what a wonderful beer this made! I've never been fortunate enought to try the real thing, but it is delicious. My homebrew club had a pale ale comp last month and I just missed entering. The other night I brought...

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

I brewed 12 gallon batch of this almost two weeks ago. Built up r/o water to match what FW uses for their pale 31. I got crazy efficiency that day and ended up with an OG of 1.068. I was worried about my bitterness, but the hydrometer samples both had a really nice bitterness with very nice...

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

I Kegged the 10gal I brewed of this yesterday. Half was on vanilla bean for the last 10 days. Decided not to use oak. The vanilla batch was racked into a keg along with 10 ounces of Knob Creek. OG was 1.077 and both finished at 1.018. Almost an imperial porter. Both hydrometer samples tasted...

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

Brewed up a 10 gallon batch of this yesterday. Beautiful day in NC and the brew day went really smooth. Ended up with just under 10 gal. Gonna do half with some Medium oak cubes soaked in Bourbon and Vanilla beans. Has anyone else tried this with this recipe? If so how much Bourbon and how long...

    Tasmanian IPA

Hey, Glad you asked, and sorry for the late update on this. This turned out fantastic. I will definitely be brewing this again. I have to say that I thought the 1272 version turned out slightly better due to the fact that it attenuated further. Even though I did a 2L starter with the YG001, I...

    Tasmanian IPA

I finally got around to brewing this last Saturday. I took your advice and lowered the 60 min additon and added a little more hops near flameout. The day went pretty well. I definatly realized the limitations of my 10 gallon blichmann mash tun. With over 29lbs of grain in that puppy I had to let...

    Yeast Geek YG001/Conan

It came yesterday as expected. I got a 2L starter going last night. Nice layer of foam this morning. Gonna brew on Sunday.

    Yeast Geek YG001/Conan

Wow, that does seem like a small amount of yeast for that size container. I would definitely get a starter going. I think they recommend a 1.030 as opposed to the regular 1.040. I looked all over the site and missed that post about not shipping this week. Bummer.

    Yeast Geek YG001/Conan

I have some on order and Can't wait to get it on the stir plate. Gonna use it on a Galaxy Ipa. How long have you guys had to wait to get the Conan/YG001? I ordered last week, the site says it ships every monday following your order, and should arrive 3 days later. I'm holding out hope it...

    Tasmanian IPA

Hey, thanks for the feedback, I've read before that restraint is the key when using galaxy as a bittering hop. I think I'll take your advice and Knock the 60min addition down to .33oz. I might do it as a FWH. Thinking also of doing a 10, and 5 min or less addition. Start a whirlpool at knockout...

    Tasmanian IPA

Hey Peri, I know it's been quite a while for you on this one, but how did it turn out? Were you happy with the final results? I have some Galaxy headed my way and I might try this recipe out. I might sub in some table sugar and mash closer to 150 to keep it on the dry side. Any feedback is...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Anchor, thanks for the feedback, I like your thinking. I tinkered with the hopping just a bit. My Citra is 13.9AA, so I knocked the FWH down to .5oz and lowered the 15min addition to 1oz. I'm gonna knock out with 2oz and whirlpool for about 15-20 min before turning on the chiller. Should keep me...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Excited to finally get this brewed this weekend. Just wondering, has anyone done a whirlpool or hopstand at the end of the boil with this? I usually whirlpool and let stand for a total of 30 min or so. Just wondering if I should lower my FWH to account for any extra isomerization, or just start...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Sorry if this has already been mentioned in a previous post. In the interest of conserving some citra, has anyone tried this using a neutral bittering hop @60min and moved the FWH to 20min? I think I'll brew this one to the T on my first try, but would be interested in trying it with some...

    Lagers

Great info folks, thanks! I know this may be taboo, but have any of you dryhopped your lagers. If so, at what point would you do this in the process?
