    "reverse" my johnson control

It was a double post, I'll admit, but I'll defend myself that it wasn't a triple post at least! Sorry, wasn't certain which forum it belonged. I did get the answer from Catt22 on a private message last night. When I opened the case there is another terminal that is plugged. Remove the...

    johnson controls

I have a A19AAT johnson control for my fermentation fridge. It's out in my patio and it's going to get really cold out there, I want to do the thing where I put a light bulb in the fridge to warm it up to ferm temps in the winter. For that I want to "reverse" my control to turn on the lamp when...

OktoberFAST it is, thanks! I looked through hopville, but the issue I have is there is often no comments from other users on how something turns out.

Looking for recipe with leftover grains

All - I am desperate for a brew day today, but can't make it out to get any more 2-row. I have plenty Pilsen, white wheat, rye, and assorted crystal, munich, vienna etc as well as a ton of hops. Can anyone recommend either 1.) a place I can plug these things in and get a list of...

    Perfect, thanks!

    BIAB with small pot

I want to make sure this setup is ok... I'm doing one gallon test batches with the BIAB method. After I factor in grain absorption and boil off rate, I need 7 qts to start with to end with 1 gallon for a 60 minute boil. The issue is my pot is an 8 qt pot. If I fill the pot up to 7 qts then...

    SMaSH yeast question

    awesome! Thanks for the info.

    SMaSH yeast question

I guess I'm looking for experience using a better quality yeast, but one that will compliment the MO and not have too much of an impact on taste so I can compare and contrast the hops in the three SMaSH brews (chinook, willamette, cascade). Sounds like pacman is the answer since it's "super clean"?

    SMaSH yeast question

All - New brewer question... I'm brewing a few one gallon SMaSH beers to try and isolate some hops and get the hang of BIAB brewing. I have a MO/Chinook ready to go, and want to branch into some better yeasts versus the typical dried yeast packet I use. Any suggestions for a more...

    BIAB water volume question

First BIAB tonight with a two gallon batch. Question is how do I account for water volume with grain absorption and boil off? In the past with extract, I would just top off to 5 gallons after cool down. Thanks!

Oops... No tubing and batch started

It's an ESB, so I'll take the advice and just dump it. I follow the primary only fermentation method advised on the forums, with dumping it all in should I do a secondary?

Oops... No tubing and batch started

Help, please. My brew friend was called home right as we were sorting, cleaning and prepping the brew. I started and am on the steeping stage, but he accidentally left with the auto siphon tubing. I have no extra tubing, just the auto siphon, I don't think the auto siphon will just pour out...

Mash Tun size and grain surface area

Interesting, I didn't think about that, the one I had my eye on has a spigot on the narrow side. I was also concerned about how difficult it would be to adjust temperatures during mash in with that much surface area. Not true if that is true or not. Maybe I'm overthinking it and should just...
