Why not apply the scientific method? You've asked a question, done some research, now make a hypothesis, do the experiment suggested above, and draw a conclusion for yourself on your system. Science in action!
So are you guys keeping these better bottles to sours after? I've heard the sour bugs are really hard to get rid of and it's kind of been keeping me away trying to brew one
I tried this with a batch of cider and found that it didn't work in my dishwasher. I used a thermocouple and found that my dishwasher it got hot enough to pasteurize, but then I add the bottled cider and put the thermocouple into one if the bottles and found that my dishwasher WAS NOT strong...
You can steep the grains in your bottling or fermenting bucket then pour out the contents through a strainer. I can't remember which one, but I saw this o an episode of brewing tv
