Hot diggity damn.
I got sent out of state for work and let this beer lager for 3 months, I just cracked an experimental bottle (2 weeks carbonating, 1 day in fridge) and it's totally delicious. Really looking forward to trying it with another week of conditioning!
Well, my LHBS that just opened is still trying to get on its feet. No Munich or melanoidin malt available and only 7oz of Citra on hand, though it is 14% AA. I'm getting sick of trying to make recipes out of grains they don't have on hand so I might have to put this one off.
I just upgraded from a 5g to a 10g mash tun. I finally got sick of being limited on how much grain I could mash and the $75 cost of a bigger cooler with all the hardware is nothing. I'm going to break it in with this beer. I've never had Zombie Dust so I won't have anything to compare my beer...
Zombie Dust clone for me this weekend, my pipeline has taken a major hit. I gave away 60 bottles at a homebrew get together this weekend and I only have an imperial stout and a Kolsch in primary right now. Kolsch won't be ready to drink for 7 weeks or so and the stout won't be ready for...
For my second batch of this beer I had to make a couple of compromises. No vienna malt available so I just dropped it from the recipe (my new LHBS has a much finer crush so I ended up at the same OG as my first batch) and I used Amarillo flavor hops in place of Centennial. Still came out to be...
Congrats. I actually think it looks great cloudy. it actually looks like the skin of an apricot.
Ain't nothing better than realizing the beer you make at home can be so good!
You can't patent or copyright a microorganism. Anyone could culture up some Conan yeast from dregs and sell it or give it away. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I accidentally added irish moss to my last wheat beer. Force of habit, had 15 minutes left in the boil and tossed it in like I do to all my beers. It's still fairly cloudy. I don't do anything to clear my wheat on purpose.
When my sister found out I had gotten into wet shaving she got me 4 Edwin Jagger soap pucks for Christmas, 2x aloe, 1x sandalwood and 1x 'sea buckthorn' and it makes me laugh because I will probably be using those same pucks when I am 60 years old. Shaving soap lasts forever.
