A few years ago I bought a few pouches of D-45 and D-90 candi syrup. Only just remembered I have them and was thinking of brewing something to use them up. Since they are quite old now they seem to have crystalized in the pouches. The pouches are still unopened. Are they still ok to use? Should...
Spunding valves have limited relief flow rates and it is possible for pressure to build faster than it can relieve. It would be best to run the spunding valve and PRV in parallel, i.e. off a tee piece, with the spunding valve set to a lower pressure than the PRV. That way you can control...
I only read up to when you mentioned the tasting was done on day 5. Seems like it just needs more time. Although Kveik finishes fast it doesn’t mean it’s good to drink straight away. Let it sit for a week or two and it’ll change
It could be the floating dip tube has worked itself into a position where the tube opening is above liquid level. How long was the dip tube? It should only just touch the bottom of the keg when installed.
You could tryrotating the keg or inverting it to try and correct the float/tube.
Silicone will absorb aromas and can discolour fairly easily. As long as you keep it clean it is fine. Starsan will only work on a clean surface, no need to soak. Storing dry also means you don’t need to worry about mold.
I use silicone floating dip tubes and do notice they hold onto a smell, even after cleaning with pbw. I’ve used the same line for several beers (obviously cleaning the line in between batches) and not had any issues with infection if that’s what you’re concerned about.
I would not store the...
Once a keg is finished I rinse, PBW soak keg and all fittings/orings, rinse and fully assemble keg, then fill with 1-2 cups of starsan (made from demineralised water). Swish that around so all surfaces have been contacted. Then leave keg sealed under 5psi pressure with starsan in there. When...
A few months ago I ordered a couple stainless 3” TC lids with posts from an undisclosed online store. I received them a while back but only just got around to installing them and noticed one has an incomplete weld around the relief valve area which cannot hold pressure. The lid will be used in...
This looks to be the same mill as Keg King have in Australia. Maybe they sorted out their US distribution?
https://www.keg-king.com.au/maltmuncher-grain-mill-3-roller.html.html
If it is the same mill then the roller diameter is 1.5” according to Keg King.
Does anyone have reviews of this mill?
