    Experimental Hops!! FHBS

I'm glad you mentioned about the 6300 because I'm currently drinking a single hop pale I made with it and thought the same thing. I thought something was wrong with the batch but I get a weird nutty sweet thing going on. I agree not my favorite

    Champagne/Australian Sparkling Ale/Wedding Ideas

Hello All, So my friend is getting married in Sept 2014 and I have decided I want to brew a beer or two for that event. I just started investigating Australian Sparkling ales and also Brut or Champagne style beers. Any advice, direction or recipes for either would be great. I just...

    Farmhouse IPA w/Brett....first time use

All great points and the more I think about it makes a lot of sense. Maybe keeping it in the regular farmhouse IPA area is the best route. Especially since those 2 hops are pretty sweet by themselves plus with some nice farmhouse yeast should be great. Also yes I'm definitely at the stage where...

    Farmhouse IPA w/Brett....first time use

Sweet that is a good idea. I will have to look into that yeast. De Wildeman is a great beer so if I'm in the ball park that would be nice

    Farmhouse IPA w/Brett....first time use

More of the slight funk, champagne feel and complexity. I guess more of the undertones than anything right in your face about the yeast

    Farmhouse IPA w/Brett....first time use

Hello all! Looking for a bit of advice. This will be my first time using brett and wanted to see if this whole idea sounds workable. So the beer we are brewing is a Farmhouse IPA of sorts. We will be using Wyeast 3711 in the primary and hopping generously using mosaic and galaxy. A...

Question on yeast starter size and OG 1.100

So I just brewed my Imperial White IPA this weekend and everything went well but the OG ended up being 1.100 which was a littler higher than I expected. I did a yeast starter in a 1000 ml flask but I only did 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of DME. I then pitched 1 packet of Wyeast 3463 in and gave...

    Imperial White IPA

Well I'm hoping to create a big beer but big in taste and aroma and pushing both ends of the white beer and the ipa. I hope it works. It sounds good but its all theory currently.

    Imperial White IPA

I was thinking so too but I decided to just go for it and see how it works out.
