    Punk Rock and Hardcore

I remember being HOOKED on "Very Proud of ya" in middle school. I agree their new wave stuff blows goats. Subhumans sound like they've really taken a dive as well. FWIW, i still like old Thrice and Poison the Well. ( Hardcore but not Punk hardcore i guess. )

    Punk Rock and Hardcore

I was VERY much into pock rock from middle school till about halfway through high school. I really got into rockabilly and the whole greaser scene for awhile. Ive kinda always been a metal head at heart, so musically everything shifted to Death Metal for me. Played in a number of bands...

    Hops

Still sucks if you are going to wash your yeast afterwards. I think the nylon mini hop bags are cheap enough. I have one that im going to try next brew this weekend. Gonna tie it closed with some cooking string, then fish it out at each hop addition, add the pellets to it, then tie it back off...

Yeast cake w lots of hop in it

I just washed for the first time. I had a similar mishap with my strainer being a punk biatch, and got loads o trub in the primary. My washed jars look the same. ( i got 5 jars i think, and 3 of them look similar to this but with a bit more yeast. The other 2 look like a nice fat yeast cake. )...

    Watered down

What was your OG? What is your FG ? Did you put water in your primary and add wort to it? If so, you need to know the OG before adding water, or you end up lower the OG and thus the FG of the finished product, resulting in a watered down brew. Invest in a hydrometer and test beaker for future...

    My airlock went ape****!!

+ 3 . Blow off tube for the first few days, then go with the airlock. A blowoff tube is a length of 1/2 in diameter tubing wedged into the top of a rubber stopper with a hole in it. Run one end in the stopper, the other in a vessel with water to keep air out. I also did this my first brew...

    Advice on Belgian Yeast

I did a 7 bridges Organic Belgian Dubel extract kit with WLP530 Abbey Ale Yeast ( whitelabs liquid vial ) and it came out GREEEAAATTT. It was my second brew and was just outstanding IMO. Needed 4 weeks to carb up nicely though... but i left it in primary for a quite awhile due to no time to bottle.

    Fermentation not happening!!!

    1. you really need to cool the water down to fermentation temps before re hydrating the yeast. Depending on strain, 65-74 degrees. 90 something is far to hot. Id recommend you throw the unopened yeast pack in some idophor to sterilize it along with the scissors you plan to use. ( i prefer...

    Syphoning

Get one. They are worth their weight in GOLD. Use: 1. Attach 3/8 in hose to the end of the L on the racking cane. 2. Hold it so the bottom is about 5-8 inches submerged in whatever you are siphoning. 3. Pump the cane and watch the liquid come out the hose. To stop siphon: Lift the end...
