I wonder first why you need to go below 38F. Second, it sounds like you are running the glycol chiller too cold. Keep it ~31F-32F and it should not ice up.

We use this stuff all the time to or tables that hold up to 1000lb or more. Its very strong. Both the Bosch extrusions and 80/20 are nice.

Does anyone have a hell of a time getting the Torpedo kegs to seal? I have six old ball lock kegs that work awesome and one Torpedo that won't seal for ****. So its not like I can't seal a keg.

I have gotten around this by using a "plug" the diameter of which is the ID of the tun. This is made of foam insulation with food safe plastic on one face.

FYI I asked the question because I am a big SS brewtech fanboy and will be getting an Infusion 20 gallon. That said I won't have any recirc or heating. Adding the complexity of the pumps seems counter to the intent.

Can I ask why get an insulated tun with a RIMS or HERMS?
