So my OG was 1.06 and the reading I took yesterday was 1.016. I figure this means its finished but I will wait another week , check it again and then decide whether to bottle or not. I feel pretty comfortable at this point that things are good.
I still haven't checked a gravity reading yet, but when I opened the fermenter ( ale pail) I found very little sign of krausen. ?This beer only has 4oz of hops in it so I don't know if that would have anything to do with it. If I take a gravity check and it doesn't look close to what it should...
I brew some beer last week ( 5 gal extract kit) and have a fermentation question. I allowed the wort to cool to a little under 75 deg. and then pitched the yeast. I held the temp at between 60 and 65 deg. I saw some action within the first 24hrs and it lasted maybe 2 days. As of the 5th day I'm...
I'm sure the fixture and bulb are the smaller socket and something like the flame style bulb. I was also thinking the fitting was maybe the dielectric fitting. I think as long as the nut side of the union fits over the neck of the bottle it would be just a matter of using some type of rubber...
I did a Pale Ale using Citra in the boil and dry-hopped w/ Mosaic. This beer came out so awesome that I plan to make the next 2 batches the same way. Even the brewmaster at a local brewery was really impressed with it. All this and I did it with extract as I haven't invested in the equipment to...
I recently bought a BevAir kegerator for $20. The door is rusted to the point it doesn't hang onto the cabinet and the top is loose due to rust. The tower seems as though it will be fine when time to use it and the refrigeration works great. What would be needed to use it as a fermentation...
I would be willing to email it to you but I don't know if they would want me posting their recipe to the public. I also have the main recipe ,but, don't have the schedule for their dry hopping. I know what kinds of hops , just not the time line.
Not on the Lucky 7 brew sheet. I have the brew sheet for Lot # that is for 1200 gals. I may get back there to see him in the next week or so. I don't know if they will give me the other brew sheet but will ask.
govner1, When I posted the recipe I should have said ( in regards to the grains) "added pre-boil" They are the specialy grains that are steeped until the water is brought to 170*.
You're AWESOME Yooper!! I am definitely try this in the near future. When I do I will post w/ results! Thank you very much! This could be the begining of a great summer time house beer.
