    Yeast Starter-Need Advice!

I would say Friday night and no need to cold crash and decant. I let mine go from 24 to 48 hours at room temp so it's ready for perfect pitching temps. It would be a great benefit if you or someone could swirl it around frequently to keep good 02 supply available. When you return, have some fun...

    what now?

I believe they are talking about just purging 02 out so it doesn't sit on top of your new beer. I do the set and forget as well but only purge out original 02. No need to after that unless your trying to drop internal pressure for some reason. Lets say you bump it to 30 psi just to set your keg...

    Caribou slobber

This was my first home brew as well. I used a small starter of the WY1332, no straining, left in primary for 7 weeks and kegged. Once I hit the right carbonation (4.5 gal.) level it was great! This may be my "go to" all year long! Full, darl, and full of taste. I did a side by side with Moose...

    Urge

I know exactly how your feeling! What I did was brewed some more to ease the wait. I started with a Caribou Slobber. Since then (12/17/13), I've completed a Brickwarmer Ale, an Emma's brown Ale, Smile Rye IPA, and a Cream Ale. It helps if you can brew one or so a weekend and before you know...

Batch #1 - Complete - Pics and my experience

Congratulations on your first brew day! I too am new to the hobby with only three batches under my belt, but, have a couple of suggestions that the veterans can speak too if I'm wrong. 1. CO is a dangerous colorless and odorless gas that kills many every year. If you must brew inside buy a...

    Starting first batch ever.....

Good luck with all brew sessions. I'm only three batches in but have caught the bug for sure! My newbie recogmendation will be to purchase a propane burner if you don't already have one. I just used my Edelmetall this weekend and I was able to brew two kits in the same amount of time that it...

Hello from Rio Rancho NM - brew noob

Hello all and Thank you so much for the information that I've read here and used to help me brew my first batch of Caribou Slobber. I gained so much experience from so many that it went almost flawlessly. I don't remember who gave the advise to document everything but that will allow me not to...
