    Maryland Blichmann Beer Gun/Keg/Barley Crusher/more

I'll take one when I get home. It is an immersion chiller that I then ran a high temp rubber hose around. I soldered connections for garden hoses (water supply) and vinyl/silcon (wort). She isn't pretty but she gets the job done.

    LHBS pulled a fast one.

Most of the online retailers also are brick and mortar. My lhbs is fantastic but from the sounds of this and other threads, that seems too brew the exception rather than the rule. TL;DR brick and mortars usually go out if their service sucks, not because they can't compete. Sent from my...

    Proper way to steep grain?

I hated steeping so much I switched to all grain. I know a lot of people heat to about 5degrees warmer than target then flame out and start steeping. I personally scorched a bag trying to steep while heating do I like the 5 degree idea. Sent from my VS980 4G using Home Brew mobile app

    My catastrophe with all grain

I see no problems. ****ty day equipment wise but you basically did brew in a bag followed by submersion cooling. The trub you are seeing is probably hot break, something you wouldn't have dealt with using extracts. I use a bazooka for masking so I can't help you there. Off by .006 is nothing...

    sparge process

I usually drain or completely or at least as long it takes too heat My sparge water. There is an interesting post on here about mash out single sparge (moss) vs mash out double sparge (mods) if you are interested. But yes as long as you weren't way off on your gravity you are fine. Sent from...

    Brewing Schedule

I've used the ghetto beer gun and a real beer gun. The real one is a lot nicer. Having a beer gun allows you to use kegs solely for carbing and then bottles for consumption. Not crazy about bottles get some swing top growlers. Want more easy to fill capacity, get a party pig. Sent from my...

    OG reading

Cooled wort. Boiling will screw with your hydrometer reading and you can't adjust that big a change Sent from my VS980 4G using Home Brew mobile app

First time brew on my own

I used to swear by liquid. Now I use only dry unless I'm looking for a specific flavor and even then it's silly with temperature control. *Edit* to clarify I don't need a starter with dry and its a lot more consistent Sent from my VS980 4G using Home Brew mobile app

    Reusing bottles

Screw tips aren't the worst, just drink those first. Clear bottles won't necessarily skunk, just keep them in a dark place or your fridge. That being said avoid bottles with small collars. I think dos equis has a really small collar, makes getting the cap on more difficult. Also for...
