    Rogue Mocha Porter Clone

Sorry for the late reply, but the porter turned out amazing. One if the best beers I've made in 4 years of brewing.

    Dallas - New LHBS

Agreed, Fort Worth Homebrew isn't terrible, but their prices are high and they are really far away from Keller. I've thought about opening up a shop in this area as well. I just have no idea what kind of market there would be for it.

    Rogue Mocha Porter Clone

A couple of reasons, mainly convenience.... LHBS only carries White Labs, as I understand only Wyeast has Pacman commercially available, and I didn't want to mail order any yeast. I had some WLP001 in the fridge that I washed last week. I think WLP001 is a decent sub for Pacman, not...

    Rogue Mocha Porter Clone

I brewed this up over the weekend and would like to get some feedback while I wait to see how it turned out. I know the IBU's are low compared to Rogue's stated IBU's, and I substituted Cascade for Centennial, but I don't see the hops as being the critical component to this brew. Type: All...

    Soda Regulator vs. Beer Regulator

I've been kegging since I started brewing, about 4 years ago. Anyways, when I jumped in to the hobby, I didnt really know what I was buying, and purchased a kegging setup based on the recommendation of a friend. I never really had a problem with the regulator, per se, but always felt that...

    DIY temp controller build

Yes, and for the love of God be careful. It may not be 240V, but still enough to hurt and/or kill you, or burn your house down. Use appropriate sized wire, and insulate well (especially at relay terminals). I would recommend these: Besides that, Good luck!

    DIY temp controller build

I don't think so. You probably will connect the power supply through two terminals which are in the same column. Not all relays are the exact same, but thats the typical configuration. You can always test, either with a continuity tester, or some low voltage signal. (Before I got a digital...

Looking to use up Cascade / Pearle

I bought a pound each of whole leaf Cascade and Pearle from Puterbaugh farms (great prices BTW). I bought these two varieties because I love BM's Nierra Sevada. Well, I've made 10 gallons of that and would like to do something else. I am not completely against buying another type of hops...

    DIY temp controller build

Yes, the two turned perpendicular go to the coil. The two adjacent to it are the poles, and the next two are the throws. Each pole will have one throw it is normally in contact with. You want to connect to the opposite one. I'm not sure which one that is, but you could test it pretty easily...

Finally ruined my first brew (Sanitizer Suckback)

I did leave the iodophor in that pitcher for well over a week, with CO2 bubbling up through it the whole time. Like I said, I haven't thrown it out yet. I hope you are right!

    DIY temp controller build

You can still use it, its just not necessary. See in this diagram, each pole is normally contacting one throw or the other. When voltage is applied to the coil, each pole switches, and contacts the other throw. You only need one of those poles, and one of these throws, meaning you...

    DIY temp controller build

The OP used solid state relays, are the ones you bought SSR or coil type? When I built mine, I only used one SPST coil relay, (You would use two if you were cooling and heating. I was only cooling). The SPST I bought has 4 terminals and is in the "normally open" position, so that when...

Finally ruined my first brew (Sanitizer Suckback)

Well, after more than 3 years of brewing and probably 30 or so batches, I have finally ruined one. I made Biermunchers Cream of Three Crops, and after a couple of days (at 68F) it almost blew the airlock off the fermenter, so I put a blowoff tube on and ran the blowoff to a pitcher of...
